Trump’s failed trade war means higher prices for American families, including new 30% to 50% tariff taxes on imported furniture. This self-inflicted pain by Republicans is 100% preventable. I have legislation that would require Congress to approve any new Trump tariff tax before it goes into effect.
In one way or another, we've all been impacted by cancer. But tragically, the odds of survival dip significantly for those without health insurance. My remarks on the devastating impact of Republicans taking away health care for 15 million Americans while cutting lifesaving medical research.
Instead of lowering prices, as he promised to do, Trump is pushing gimmicks that protect Big Pharma’s monopoly power and force consumers to hunt for better deals in a sea of outrageous prices. A Trump prescription for more medical debt.
Great to visit with Dr. Nick Yagoda and Christine Gendron of CommUnityCare on the importance of keeping our community health clinics fully funded so they can keep delivering excellent care to Austinites.
Chemicals found in plastics pose health risks, including in early pregnancy. I'm sounding the alarm for stricter regulations on plastics/microplastics, because Making America Healthy is inconsistent with the GOP turning a blind eye to big polluters. We can't give up on creating a healthier planet.
Republicans enacted the largest health care cut in history this summer, denying 15 million Americans coverage. Now, the GOP wants to inflict even more pain on your family because they'd rather shut down the federal government next Tuesday than stop insurance premium spikes by as much as 75%.
We all want access to cutting-edge treatments and technologies to help save lives, but we don't want false hope created by defective products, fraudsters, or the inability to access and afford medical devices.
After investigation of former FBI Director Comey revealed no evidence of probable crime, prosecutor declined to bring charges. Unable to let go of his vendetta, Trump forced out the experienced criminal prosecutor, substituting his own personal insurance attorney to renew the prosecution attempt.
Apparently, Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, was caught accepting $50,000 in cash from undercover FBI agents. Instead of a thorough investigation and prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law, Trump's Department of Justice made the problem go away. A corrupt act from a corrupt administration.
Trump and his Republican enablers in Congress are taking away health care from 15 million Americans and forcing families to pay up to $2,300 more per year in tariff taxes. Continuing their failing economic agenda, they now plan to shut down the federal government next week.
Discussed w/Member of the European Parliament how citizens in Europe and America are victims of Trump’s chaotic and costly tariffs. To meet global challenges like climate change and the rise of authoritarian states, we should strengthen ties with our allies, not fomenting senseless trade wars.
Reporting at a protest against Trump is not grounds for deportation. But to Trump, every critic, both foreign and domestic, is an enemy deserving to be punished. (2/2)
Trump continues his efforts to suppress freedom of the press to limit what we can learn about his wrongdoing. For months, ICE has wrongfully detained Atlanta journalist Mario Guevara, who is authorized to work in the US. (1/2)
Republicans enacted the largest health care cut in American history—taking away access to a family physician for about 15 million Americans. States are responding by slashing already-too-low provider payments, making it more likely your child’s doctor won’t accept Medicaid.
To gain a better understanding of the impact of Trump's severe workforce cutbacks at the National Weather Service on preparation and response to the deadly July 4 floods, I have been seeking easily available, relevant chat, call & shift logs, and radar archives. The Trump Admin refuses to respond.
