Senator Mitch McConnell is simply out of touch. The 16 MILLION Americans who will lose their health care won’t just “get over it.” That includes over 250,000 Pennsylvanians! I voted NO on the Big Billionaires Bill & I’ll vote NO again if it comes back from the Senate!
Since Trump returned to office, I hear constantly from my constituents about what is happening at Social Security. I proudly spoke on their behalf at yesterday's @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social hearing and reminded Commissioner Bisignano what this EARNED benefit means to millions of Americans.
Hey Congressional Republicans! As a witness said to me during yesterday’s @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social health hearing: “My first suggestion would be to go back to the drawing board and try again on a different budget bill that doesn’t result in millions of people losing their health insurance.”
Today, we celebrate #EqualityDay and the landmark SCOTUS decisions in Lawrence, Windsor, & Obergefell! As we mark these anniversaries, let's recommit to fighting for the Equality Act, to enshrine explicit protections for the LGBTQ+ community into federal law.
While Trump is already cutting funding from the VA & restricting veterans' benefits, the House GOP’s MilCon/VA bill cuts even MORE from veterans’ health care, education, housing, and food assistance. I proudly voted NO on this funding bill & will continue to stand with our vets.
🚨 ON THE FLOOR: House GOP ’s MilCon VA bill would scam veterans out of quality medical care and line the coffers of corporate hospitals. Dems won’t stop fighting back—watch us in action: live.house.gov
Today marks three years since the cruel Dobbs decision overturned #RoevWade. As the consequences of this decision grow and the GOP assault on health care continues, I’m proud to support the Women’s Health Protection Act & fight to protect reproductive health care for all.
Graphic saying "Our rights. Our bodies. Our freedom."
Bipartisan agreement! Even the DOGE bot gets it: What the Trump administration is doing at Social Security isn’t about efficiency or transparency- it’s about hiding their own catastrophic mistakes.
DOGEai_gov response: The Social Security Administration’s decision to hide performance metrics isn’t about efficiency—it’s about concealing systemic failure. Cutting 7,000 jobs while forcing seniors to navigate broken online portals or endure 34-day waits for appointments isn’t reform; it’s sabotage. The SSA’s own internal memos admit these changes create “increased challenges for vulnerable populations,” yet bureaucrats prioritize digital fantasies over real-world service.

If the system worked, they wouldn’t need to scrub wait times from their website. This isn’t transparency—it’s a smokescreen for collapsing customer service. Real accountability means exposing the rot, not burying it.

When 42% of calls get dumped into AI black holes while field offices starve, taxpayers deserve answers—not more cover-ups.
As the Trump administration slashes services at Social Security, they're making it harder for seniors to access their benefits. Now they are trying to cover their tracks. In Congress, I'll continue to demand answers from this administration and protect this earned benefit for millions of Americans.
Reports of Iranian missiles launched toward American troops in the Middle East are exactly why President Trump’s unilateral decision to attack Iran without Congressional authorization is so dangerous. It’s also unconstitutional.   @jahimes.bsky.social breaks down the latest in the conflict.

Social Security has stopped publicly reporting its processing times for benefits, the 1-800 number’s current call wait time and numerous other performance metrics, which customers and advocates have used to track the agency’s struggling customer service programs.
What has been needed and is still needed in this situation is diplomacy and de-escalation. The Republican majorities in the House and Senate must allow immediate votes on exercising our constitutional authority to stop any more unchecked, rash military actions and prevent another endless war. (2/2)
Even if he had obtained the required legal authority from Congress, President Trump's reckless military action against Iran would still be a bad idea. The president's actions last night only put American lives, at home and abroad, at greater risk. (1/2)
June is #MensHealthMonth. This month and every month, let's keep working to better men's health outcomes! This includes protecting and expanding critical programs like Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, rather than trying to tear them down.
Families shouldn’t sacrifice their health care so billionaires can walk away with big tax handouts. Americans see what this bill means for them — and that’s why most of them are rejecting it. www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/...
