Ten years ago, nine lives were stolen from us in a hate-filled, racially motivated act of gun violence at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC.
Let us honor their memory with action and continue fighting to close the "Charleston Loophole" that enabled the gunman to commit this horrific act.

Harry Enten on Trump's bill: "The amount of disapproval for this bill -- holy cow, my goodness gracious! We're talking about 29 points underwater ... we're talking about a negative 41 net favorability rating among independents. You rarely ever see proposed pieces of legislation as unpopular"
As a member of the Congressional Caucus on Foster Youth, I was pleased to host Elizabeth for Foster Youth Shadow Day!
In Congress, I’m committed to ensuring foster youth voices are uplifted and heard, especially as we work to better the foster care system.

It’s hard to believe that the Senate Republicans would put forward a bill that’s even worse than the House bill on Medicaid, but they did.
Even more people will lose health care
Even more hospitals will close
Even more people will have their health insurance costs skyrocket
When I was in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, I was proud to be a part of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators! Last week, it was great to speak with some of their members about the important work they’re doing in state legislatures across the country.
SNAP food aid lifts hundreds of thousands in PA out of poverty, helping keep families healthy & strong. But the GOP's #ReverseRobinHood budget would slash this program.
As Anna Fry, a nurse in Philly, said: “Cuts to SNAP will create preventable crises that touch every area of our patients’ lives.”

This is what the biggest Medicaid cut in American history will look like for rural communities:
I’m wishing all the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in Philadelphia and beyond a very Happy Father’s Day!

The culture of violence that has been created by political extremists in this country must end.
I'm fighting against President Trump & Congressional Republicans' budget because of kids like Dominic- a 3-year-old from Philly.
Dominic has Spina Bifida, but thanks to @childrensphila.bsky.social & the support of NIH-funded research and Medicaid, he received life-saving prenatal medical care.
What's needed in LA is de-escalation & for Trump to return California National Guard control to the state ASAP.
And for $134 million, we could feed more than half of the 140,000 Pennsylvanians who would lose SNAP because of the Republicans’ #ReverseRobinHood budget.
Under Trump & Congressional Republicans’ #ReverseRobinHood budget, not only would more than 300,000 Pennsylvanians lose their health care coverage, but health care centers across our commonwealth would be even more strained.
And all for what? More tax cuts for the GOP’s billionaire donor friends.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, Caucus Chair @aguilar.house.gov speaks out against the out of control Trump Administration detaining Senator Alex Padilla and preventing him from asking questions on behalf of the people he represents.
Hearing Ramond’s story today was incredibly inspiring to me and everyone listening, and I’m proud to represent him in Congress!
We must continue to support and uplift former & current foster youth and hear their stories so that we can learn how to improve this important system.
At today’s Ways and Means Work and Welfare Subcommittee hearing, my constituent, Ramond Nelson, talked about his lived experience in the foster care system and with community building programs like Foster Club.
Listen below to his testimony👇🏾
The GOP’s #ReverseRobinHood budget that takes from the bottom 80% of households just to give to the super rich 👇🏾

Senator Alex Padilla is a good man and principled public servant.
The brazen and aggressive manhandling of Senator Padilla by the Trump administration is a sickening disgrace.
Anyone who assaulted the Senator should be held accountable.
No one is above the law.

The most expensive bill in American history is being paid for by the biggest health care cut in American history.
An interesting read – and all Republican senators should be asked about Trump’s $45,000,000 birthday parade.
Republican senators freaked out when asked about Trump's military parade costing $45 million.
Some hid in elevators.
Some stared off into space.
Sen. Todd Young (R-Ind.) snapped:
“I answered the question I wanted to answer!” www.huffpost.com/entry/gop-se...
UPDATE: The House Fold’Em Caucus (@freedomcaucus) didn’t use its leverage - caved again! Same for the Republican reps who recently begged senators to fix their late-night rush job and save job-creating clean-energy tax credits:
