I was happy to meet with State Senator Williams and Eastwick community members last week.
The termination of environmental justice grant funding by the Trump Administration is completely unacceptable and only moves us backwards in the fight for a cleaner, greener Philadelphia.

Rather than working to lower the cost of groceries, health care, child care, and housing, or address gun violence — what did House Republicans do today? Vote to change the name of a body of water.
Americans deserve a Congress that is focused on making their lives better.
Congratulations to Pope Leo XIV, the first pontiff born in the U.S. and educated at Villanova!
Despite some differences of opinion, I’m pleased he has amplified calls to end racism in our society, to allow Dreamers to remain in America, & to pass life-saving gun-safety laws.
I’m praying for the police officer who was shot near Overbrook High yesterday & for the students and staff.
Our schools should be safe spaces! Fighting gun violence requires more action at the federal, state & local levels and more community involvement.
I was happy the life and work of my dear friend State Rep. Isabella Fitzgerald was honored on the Pennsylvania State House Floor today. From her work as a community leader to staffer in my office to state representative, Izzy was a tireless advocate for all Philadelphians.
If the Trump administration actually wants to ‘Make America Healthy Again,’ they wouldn’t be backing a budget that would throw millions of Americans off Medicaid coverage.
Last night, I signed a discharge petition to force a vote on the Hands Off Medicaid and SNAP Act & protect these programs from the Trump-backed GOP budget.
We just need 4 House Republicans to be serious about protecting these critical programs & put people above politics to make this happen!
Thank you to everyone who attended my annual Senior Resource Fair!

Did you know moms are paid just 62 cents for every dollar dads make?
It’s far past time we close the gender wage gap and ensure everyone has access to paid family and medical leave! I’ve voted for the Paycheck Fairness Act in a Democratic House & urge Republicans to allow a vote. #MomsEqualPayDay
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- Trump must fire Pete Hegseth!
This latest news shows that Hegseth’s actions – and Trump’s INACTION - only continue to endanger our servicemembers and put the lives of all Americans at risk.

Trump is making millions from his crypto grift.
At the same time, the GOP is plotting to take food and health care away from families already struggling to get by.
More for them. Less for you.

The @phillytrib.bsky.social is correct: "The president is wrong. He did not inherit a mess. Under former President Joe Biden, the economy closed last year running at a solid pace with inflation going down. Prices were steadily easing before most of Trump’s tariffs were implemented."
NPR & PBS provide valuable, nonpartisan information and education to ALL Americans- but it seems President Trump can’t handle anything but fawning coverage.
If Republicans actually want to balance the budget, they can work with Democrats to close tax loopholes that favor their billionaire donors.

Americans: please lower our costs

GOOD news: Our bill apparently put the Trump administration on notice, but @delauro.house.gov, Rep. Larson, @frankel.house.gov & I are NOT stopping now!
We’ll keep pushing to protect seniors by capping “clawbacks” of people’s Social Security at 10% of their monthly checks, not Trump’s 50 or 100%!
If the policies of Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans impacts you- your experience matters and I want to hear from you!
