Republicans are raising a bill to criminalize providers & threaten access to life saving care. As a @demwomencaucus.bsky.social and @reprocaucus.bsky.social member, I’m voting NO on the Repro Health Care Surveillance Act because it restricts a patient’s freedom to make their own care decisions.
Overturning Roe v. Wade left millions without access to fundamental health care. Americans have the right to make decisions about their own bodies, lives, and futures. As a member of @reprocaucus.bsky.social, I will keep fighting to restore, expand, and protect reproductive freedom for all.
There was no better way to spend MLK weekend than being out in the community! It was a pleasure to spend the weekend attending commemorative events across the Fourth District to honor Dr. King and reflect on his life, teachings, and lasting legacy.
Trump's first day in office included signing hundreds of executive actions to roll back climate agreements, civil rights, health care access, and more. It's a shame that our President continues to prioritize division over lowering the cost of living for hardworking Americans.
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. King by continuing his fight for justice and equality for all. His words are a guiding light for our nation as we work towards meaningful change in our communities and a more perfect union.
The GOP are trying to strip benefits from everyday Americans, including $3 trillion in cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and the ACA. Thousands in NC will lose care if they get their way—I will do everything in my power to protect these hard-earned benefits. www.politico.com/news/2025/01...
Whether it's wildfires in California, tornadoes in Louisiana, or hurricanes in North Carolina—conditioning aid to disaster victims is unconscionable. This shouldn’t be political. We must do everything to support those who've had their lives upended by natural disasters. thehill.com/homenews/hou...
I'm proud to announce @chtransit.bsky.social will receive over $24 million from the FTA for the North-South Bus Rapid Transit System. This transformative investment will help increase access and mitigate road congestion and emissions for years to come. Read more⤵️ foushee.house.gov/media/press-...
Officers, firefighters, teachers, letter carriers, and federal employees have seen their retirement benefits unfairly slashed for far too long. The Social Security Fairness Act restores benefits for over 35,000 in NC, and I’m glad to see it become law. www.cbsnews.com/news/social-...
I am proud to announce that I was elected as a @housedemocrats.bsky.social Regional Whip for the 119th Congress! I look forward to working to ensure that the impacts of legislation in Washington are felt across all of our communities. My statement ⤵️ foushee.house.gov/media/press-...
Protecting women and girls in sports means addressing sexual assault and harassment. It does NOT mean forcing girls to undergo invasive medical exams to "prove" their gender. That's why I'm joining the @equality.house.gov and @demwomencaucus.bsky.social in voting NO on H.R. 28.
386,000 brave women serve in our country's Armed Forces. They deserve better leadership than Pete Hegseth, who has been accused of sexual assault and has openly questioned whether women can serve in combat. My @demwomencaucus.bsky.social colleagues and I will not stand for this nomination.
