Today, we honor the 2,403 Americans who were killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor, as well as the survivors and veterans of that fateful day. May their memories be a blessing.
This is exciting news – and just goes to show that film tax incentives attract productions, and the economic stimulus that comes with them. I’m working on a national film tax credit to bring more jobs and dollars back to California and to bring America film and TV production back home to America.
States need to be able to set commonsense guardrails to protect Americans from predatory AI practices & we will keep fighting to keep that power in the hands of the people. (2/2)
Trump is trying to bring his “Drill, Baby, Drill” shtick to California waters – and I’m fighting back. California communities are, sadly, no stranger to destructive oil spills, and we will not stand by while this administration degrades our coastlines and environment.
The Trump Administration’s refusal to recognize World AIDS Day will not stop us from remembering those who have lost their lives to this terrible disease. I will never stop fighting for more investments in AIDS prevention and treatment – at home and abroad. (2/2)
Earlier this year, I led the fight to claw back more than $19 million in previously frozen HIV/AID prevention grants – because the LA community knows all too well the cost of ignoring HIV/AIDS. (1/2)
This is a great example of how public–private partnerships can drive innovation and save lives. In Congress, I’ll continue to bring home federal investments just like this one. (2/2)
#TeamFriedman was proud to celebrate the new production of a new treatment to help combat infant botulism. This innovative medicine is created right here in my district at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, and was developed in collaboration with the California Department of Public Health. (1/2)
I was honored to join Massis Weekly to celebrate their 45th anniversary. Massis Weekly is volunteer-powered and has been a key source of news and information for Armenian Americans and the larger diaspora. (1/2)
Public transit riders (myself included) are always looking to stay safe on our commutes. This is why I'm leading a new bipartisan bill to ensure transit agencies can hire police officers.
November is National Homelessness Awareness Month. In recognition, I visited My Friend's Place: a local nonprofit that provides young adults the resources they need to transition out of homelessness. (1/2)
Everyone deserves a warm meal & plenty of holiday cheer this Thanksgiving. I was so honored to help dish up some of that at Hollywood Food Coalition's Thanksgiving Meal Service. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is about showing up for each other. Grateful to join Union Station Homeless Services to help prepare meals for Angelenos who need a little extra support this holiday season.
I hopped on LAist to talk about my newest bipartisan bill that will make our public transit more safe – without fare increases or reductions in service. Take a listen to a snippet of it here:
Heartbroken to learn that two National Guard soldiers were shot earlier today. These were Americans who stepped up to serve, answering the call whenever they were needed. I’m praying for them, their families, and loved ones. Violence like this can never be tolerated.
We’re sending a clear message: safety and service must go hand in hand. Because confidence in our public systems starts with knowing you’ll get home safe. Proud to have made this announcement alongside Assemblymember Schultz, Burbank Mayor Perez, LA Metro, LAPD, and Metrolink.
