This bill makes that real by:
1️⃣Hiring more transit officers
2️⃣Upgrading safety infrastructure
3️⃣Lifting the cost burden off local taxpayers
There's a reason it's already endorsed by the TWU and ATU.

🧵No one should feel like public transit is too dangerous to ride. That's why I'm leading new, bipartisan legislation with Rep. Malliotakis.
The Safe and Affordable Transit Act is commonsense — and it will help restore safety and confidence in our public transportation.
I’ve spent my entire career in public service fighting to protect wetlands & the communities that rely on them, so I’m not shrinking from this fight. (2/2)
By cutting wetland protections out of the Clean Water Act, this administration is putting drinking water in serious jeopardy for millions of Americans. (1/2)
Melrose is going full 1980s on November 23rd with CicLAvia! My office will be there to help you with any issue you’re having with a federal agency.
Take the Metro and walk, bike, or skate your way through 4 car-free miles of Stranger Things-inspired fun this weekend.

Proud to join @friedman.house.gov and Congressional Jewish Caucus colleagues to demand answers on the Coast Guard’s weakened stance on swastikas and other hateful imagery.
Hate cannot be tolerated and we need to know how and why this happened.

The swastika and the noose are not “potentially divisive” — they are hate symbols. Full stop.
Today, I led the Congressional Jewish Caucus in demanding answers from DHS Secretary Noem about how this dangerous policy shift at the Coast Guard was ever considered. friedman.house.gov/media/press-...
Appreciate @governor.ca.gov’s leadership keeping production and jobs in California. As Hollywood's representative in Congress, I’m working on a National Film Tax Credit to build on this success and help keep American production competitive globally while protecting our local economy.
The U.S. Coast Guard reversing course on this is an insult to history and to every American who fought the Nazis, including members of my own family.
Words cannot describe how appalling this is. The swastika is not just a “potentially divisive” symbol — it represents the systematic murder of six million Jews.
The noose is a symbol of the lynching of Black Americans used to instill fear and enforce white supremacy.
We must do all we can to reject prejudice and to keep our transgender family and friends safe, so they not only survive, but thrive. (3/3)
This has been a particularly difficult year for our transgender community. I am fighting alongside advocates to protect their civil rights and to push back against the onslaught of hatred and intolerance directed at trans people. (2/3)
Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, a solemn time to reflect on the lives of our transgender friends, neighbors, and loved ones cut short due to transphobia. (1/3)
Thank you USO, for allowing me the honor of lending a hand to put together care kits for our brave service members.
This is just a small token of appreciation for those who protect us day in and day out. In Congress, I’ll continue to advocate for the needs of service members and their families.
Standing beside Epstein survivors at tonight’s vigil, we got the news: the Senate will pass the Epstein files bill unanimously.
The truth is coming and the days of protecting those who committed these heinous crimes are over. Honored to stand with survivors and fight for long-overdue justice.
The American people deserve transparency about the Epstein files, and the victims deserve accountability, regardless of what party they belong to. (2/2)
I was one of the first people to cosponsor the resolution to release the full Epstein Files, and I’m back in D.C. this week to vote to bring justice to the victims. I encourage my House Republican colleagues to do the same. (1/2)
Months ago I grilled this FEMA Administrator on why 80% of Texans in crisis got silence instead of help. He had no answers.
The next FEMA head must have relevant expertise and treat the job seriously. Their performance is a matter of life or death.
American Education Week starts now!
From my Education Advisory Committee to my work with local parents and teachers, you can count on me to fight for your children’s education.
Great to see the opening of a renovated Fremont Park!
I’ll continue to work to bring federal investments into our community to save local taxpayers money and make LA an even greater place to live, work, and raise a family.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
