Today marks 7 years since the horrific shooting at Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. 11 innocent lives were killed – ripped away from their community, family, and friends in a chilling act of antisemitism.
Both Skyline and the patients they serve are worried sick about Republican cuts to Medicaid. I refuse to rubber stamp a future where those in my district have to choose between expensive healthcare, or pain and suffering. You can count on me to hold the line. (2/2)
LGBTQ history has been written by brave icons who faced relentless discrimination and attacks. This October, we honor their achievements and recommit ourselves to standing up for a new generation of LGBTQ Americans.
If House Republicans keep dragging their feet during their self-made shutdown, 1.5 million Americans will lose lifesaving healthcare. Affordable healthcare is nonnegotiable. I’ll continue to hold the line and fight for lower cost healthcare for all.
These aren’t abstract numbers. This is the single mom skipping insulin. The retired couple canceling doctor visits. The young adult going uninsured because premiums just became rent. It’s unacceptable and I’ll never rubberstamp an agenda that throws my constituents under the bus. (4/4)
But instead of negotiating, Speaker Johnson has refused to bring Congress back in session for more than 30 days. While he extends vacations, I’ll be back in D.C. pushing for action before families get priced out of coverage. (3/4)
In my district alone: 47,000+ could see premiums spike up to 300% 13,600+ risk losing their care altogether Families will pay HUNDREDS of dollars more every month. These tax credits are the only thing making care affordable for hardworking families. (2/4)
🧵🚨I just sat down with healthcare experts from Covered California and Saban Community Clinic. What they told me should alarm everyone. If Congress doesn’t renew ACA tax credits, millions of Californians will face massive premium hikes — or lose coverage entirely. (1/4)
There’s just under 2 weeks left to submit your application to my office for the Congressional App Challenge! The apps students have created in the past have been creative and inspiring, and I have no doubt this year will bring more of the same creativity.
Today marks the 53rd anniversary of the passage of the Clean Water Act. Every American deserves access to clean water, free of lead and forever chemicals. I’ll continue defending our natural resources for all our children and families.
Today is National Mammography Day, which serves as an important reminder for high-risk women to get their routine mammogram. As a breast cancer survivor, these are key to early detection and treatment.
Medicaid/Medi-Cal supports Californians living with disabilities & gives them the chance to get the medical support they need while living independently in their communities. But Republicans think that support should be “optional”. I couldn’t disagree more.
