@SenCortezMasto and I are calling on DHS to restore protections for immigrant kids who’ve already been through enough. They should be able to live in safe, stable homes—not be pushed further into danger.
This week I stood with Job Corps students to say HELL NO to Trump’s attempt to shut down this program—which would’ve put 25K of them out on the streets. A judge just blocked it—and that’s the right call. But they’ll try again. We must use our power given by the people to stop this rogue president.
JUST IN: Judge blocks Trump administration effort to dismantle Jobs Corps. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
We name ships after American heroes for a reason. Harvey Milk was a Korean War veteran, civil rights icon, and public servant. Secretary Hegseth’s decision to remove his name from this oil tanker is shameful and cowardly. Our heroes deserve to be honored—not erased. abcnews.link/7O3z9mm
Visited New Economics for Women La Posada site in Westlake—60 housing units for women getting back on their feet after crisis. They offer support for jobs, homeownership, and starting a business—real tools to build a future. This work is life-changing. We must continue to support it.
I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and the cost of meds is no joke. Millions rely on the ACA to stay healthy. Republicans love to pretend they care about working families, but their votes show they’re for billionaires. We must extend ACA tax credits—lives are on the line.
Pride might feel different this year. The Trump admin is attacking LGBTQIA+ rights, defunding health care access, and corporations are just bending the knee. But this is not the time to stay silent. This Pride Month, let’s rise up, take action, and celebrate that love is love. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
🎓 Big cheers to the Class of 2025! Special shoutout to my nephew Tegan. You did it! 👏 Be proud, you’ve crushed it. Whatever’s next—first job, big dreams—go all in. It’s all part of the journey. And don’t forget to pass the kindness on—none of us got here alone.
A 4-year-old immigrant girl’s life hangs in the balance. Doctors warn she could die if deported. That's why I’m urging DHS with @repluzrivas.bsky.social and 37 colleagues to extend her temporary status and let her stay in LA. No child should face death because of our broken immigration system.
Trump’s “tariff strategy” is such a mess that they're calling it TACO — Trump Always Chickens Out. 🐔🤦🏽‍♂️ It’s embarrassing to watch—but this is no joke. Real people and small biz are struggling to get by. And his chaos is hurting the economy.
Reporter: Wall Street analysts have a new term called the TACO trade.. Saying Trump always chickens out on tariffs…   Trump: I kick out? Reporter: Chicken out.
Met with the Korean business community in LA today. Trump’s tariffs are driving up prices, delaying shipments, and making it harder to plan ahead. These aren’t just numbers—they’re jobs and families trying to build a future. That's why I’m fighting to end these harmful tariffs.
🚨 1 in 4 VA workers are veterans. Trump’s plan to axe 83,000 jobs isn’t just a budget cut — it’s a gut punch to those who served. 🇺🇸 Slashing the VA weakens care for millions of veterans who depend on it. This isn’t reform. It’s betrayal.
5 years ago, George Floyd was murdered—and he should still be alive today. His death sparked a global movement, but true justice means real change. It’s time to take meaningful action to end police violence and create a more just society.
Republicans used to shout “drain the swamp.” Now they are the swamp. Handing billionaires tax breaks while gutting Medicaid and raising taxes on families? That’s peak swamp behavior. 🐊
⚠️Republicans just passed a bill that hikes your energy bills, guts Medicaid, and makes college even more expensive—all to give billionaires a tax break. We fought for nearly 30 hours to expose the truth. But the fight’s not over—and now it heads to the Senate.
Had the best time celebrating 100 years of Toland Way Elementary! 🎉 The kids crushed it with their performances and history exhibit. Cheers to a century of learning and all the teachers and staff who make it happen! 📚✨
📣 What can we do right now? Showing up. Stall Trump's agenda. Push back. Expose the truth. The Republican Billionaire Tax Break Bill may have passed the House—but the fight isn’t over. With the right pushback, we can stop it in the Senate.
Raise your hand if you think billionaires should actually pay their fair share. 🤚 I gave Republicans a chance to prove they’re for the working class…watch to see what they did. 👀 It’s time to stop being the Grand Oligarchy Party and start taxing the ultra-wealthy.
🚨Are you for families or billionaires? After 11 hours, I finally got to speak out against a bill that hikes taxes on low-income families and gives billionaires tax breaks. I witnessed one of the biggest wealth transfers in history—and offered 14 amendments to fix it. Every single one was rejected.
🚨I’ve been up since 1am fighting to stop this billionaire-first bill. Trump and Republicans are increasing taxes for people making under $30k a year while cutting programs they rely on—like Medicaid and SNAP. This is an assault on working families.
🚨Trump’s attacks on oversight are a threat to our democracy. They’re coming after @RepLaMonica for doing her job—and if they can come for her, they can come for any of us. This isn’t justice—it’s political retaliation.
