Last month's 'peace' plan to end the war in Ukraine was a Russian menu. We cannot build peace on a promise from Putin.
I urge my Republican colleagues to join the push to vote on the Ukraine Support Act, which would undermine Russia's war machine & give Ukraine the support needed to win this fight.
Congratulations to Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk on being elected as the next Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates.
Passionate and collaborative, I know Joseline's leadership will be transformational at this critical moment for our state. I look forward to our continued partnership.
The scientists at NASA Goddard ensure America continues to lead the world in science, technology, & economic growth.
#TeamMaryland will continue working with NASA officials & leaders to help Goddard expand its mission to advance American leadership in space & innovation.
Great to join elefreth.house.gov yesterday to meet with military & local leaders at Joint Base Andrews. Joint Base Andrews is an important asset to Prince George's County & national defense. I thank Andrews Business & Community Alliance for working to highlight its importance to our nation & region.
The #NovemberJobsReport reveals only 64,000 jobs were added & unemployment grew to 4.6% – the highest level since the pandemic.
Trump can deny reality all he wants, but America's economic carnage will continue so long as Trump & his MAGA Republican majorities in Congress stay on the current course.
As we continue to process yesterday's tragedy, Hanukkah is a powerful reminder of the Jewish peoples' resilience & that we can always find the light in the darkness. May the glow of each candlelight bring comfort, hope, & joy to you & your loved ones this evening & in the days to come. Chag sameach.
The Help America Vote Act was not just to secure our elections, but to restore the strength of our democracy in the eyes of the American people.
Great to join a compelling conversation about HAVA & the importance of election reform.

Collective bargaining is the strongest tool for workers to create a fair workplace, & I'm pleased that the House voted to nullify the harmful EO that would strip federal workers of this hard-earned right. I'll keep fighting against efforts to disempower our federal workers & undermine their service.
At a time when electricity bills and grocery prices are already sky high, it is crucial that Americans can afford the care they need.
If Republicans don't extend cost-saving ACA tax credits, hardworking families will be forced to go uninsured or make incredibly tough choices just to make ends meet.
Great to join @elfreth.house.gov to meet with officials at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, MD to discuss strategy to support NSWC's mission to enhance our national security.
I remain committed to our work to strengthen the facility and ensure it continues to thrive into the future.
After the 2000 presidential election, I worked to pass the Help America Vote Act in order to restore confidence in our voting system. I'm proud to continue that critical work today.
Tune in at 4:30 as I discuss how building on the legacy of HAVA will ensure a stronger democracy in years to come:

Thank you @repwalkinshaw.bsky.social, @hoyer.house.gov, and @vanhollen.senate.gov for joining our Civil Service Strong community last week, alongside national leaders, former federal workers, and public service experts committed to fighting for the future of our democracy.
It is a solemn privilege to partake in the critical work to bring every hostage home.
As we stood together to reflect on the past two grueling years, I remained in awe of the remarkable strength demonstrated by the families of Americans Itay Chen & Omer Neutra, who were horrifically taken captive and murdered by Hamas on Oct. 7.
At a time when Americans are worried about rising costs, we ought to help them save time & money while filing taxes.
I was glad to join @urbaninstitute.bsky.social to discuss Direct File's impact & will keep working with Comptroller @brookelierman.bsky.social to improve the taxpayer experience.
Today I join to wish everyone in #MD05 and beyond a Happy Thanksgiving!
I am grateful for my family and the honor of serving Marylanders and the American people. I wish all who celebrate a joyous and reflective holiday with your loved ones.
