I joined Rep. Gerry Connolly & Members to meet federal employee groups & civil service organizations to discuss action to counter Trump's attacks on the federal workforce.
Federal workers ensure our country runs smoothly & safely. We must continue to stand together.

In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I invite #MD05 to show appreciation for those who have served our country with Valentines for Vets!
Bring cards to my office by Thursday February 6th for my staff and I to deliver them to the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home and Walter Reed Medical Center.
Honored to join the Congressional Ukraine Caucus today to kick off Ukraine Week 2025.
Every day we must continue to stand with Ukrainians & give them what they need to ensure the survival of democracy, human rights & international law everywhere.

USAID and its federal employees faithfully serve to advance America's credibility and interests abroad.
Musk and Trump's effort to end USAID is part of their mission to overwhelm the public's attention with chaos, crisis, and absurdity. I will not let them.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump's illegal overrun of USAID undermines the Constitution and attempts an end run around Congress.
I will continue to stand up for federal employees, the civil service, and America's leadership around the world.
I am proud to join in observing #BlackHistoryMonth to honor the culture and achievements of Black Americans who continue to shape our nation. Every day we must reflect on how far we've come and continue the work to advance equality and opportunity for all to Make It in America.
In the wake of the collision on Wednesday evening, we aim to diminish the further risk of both civilian and militant lives in the airspace above our region.
I joined the National Capital Delegation in writing to the Department of Defense to urge for an extended halt to Army helicopter training flights in the airspace & safety review on the future of military helicopter training near DCA.

I am deeply saddened to learn residents from Southern Maryland were among the victims of the collision near DCA on Wednesday night.
My office is continuing to monitor the situation. My thoughts are with the victims' families and the Southern Maryland community at this time.
My office is closely monitoring the collision between an American Airlines flight and military helicopter near DCA last night.
Thank you to the first responders who are working tirelessly on the recovery operation. My prayers are with the victims and their loved ones.
I, alongside Team Maryland, will not take my eye off the ball when it comes to defending our civil servants and working to ensure Marylanders can access needed resources Congress has provided.
Trump’s Administration has now walked back its call to shut off federal grant and loan funding - even as they continue to threaten these funds.
But one thing is clear: this chaos has left Americans with uncertainty, fear, and anxiety about the President’s ability to lead this nation.

The Trump administration is blocking critical funding for projects in #TX07 and across the country. Projects authorized in laws we passed to invest in America—in #TX07 and across the country.
I joined @hoyer.house.gov in demanding transparency and answers.

I joined 153 of my Democratic colleagues in sending a letter to the Trump Administration demanding clarity on the executive order that could freeze funding from the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
President Trump's executive order asserted an immediate pause of infrastructure projects that are restoring communities & lowering costs for millions. I’m leading over 150 House Democrats in demanding the release of a full list of frozen initiatives.

Direct File for the 2024-25 tax season opens today. I thank the Comptroller of MD & Gov. Wes Moore for ensuring over 700,000 Marylanders can file taxes directly with the IRS for free.
I encourage all in #MD05 to visit www.marylandtaxes.gov/directfile to see if you're eligible for this program.
80 years after the Allies liberated the Nazi concentration camps, International Holocaust Remembrance Day reminds us of our growing responsibility to preserve & share the history of the Holocaust. Antisemitism threatens not only Jews but democracy itself.

President Trump's purge of the independent inspectors general is just the latest example of how the Trump Administration creates new opportunities for government corruption instead of new opportunities for Americans to get ahead.

This winter has brought historically low temperatures to #MD05. I urge everyone in our region to take extra precaution & follow these tips from WSSC Water to protect their water pipes and homes.
Visit wsscwater.com/winterready for additional information, tips, & resources.
My friend Ambassador Michael Herzog has been a strong and effective champion for our US-Israel relationship, especially during this tumultuous period. I join many others in thanking him for his years of service. His departure is a great loss for both our nations.
