Very disappointing to see "what's the point in economic growth" coming from Team Burnham. On a total hiding to nothing if they just sit around saying no to stuff. Not very "Manchesterism."

is it the reprint of case files 18
"these europeans have never experienced Real Fireworks before" how do you come to hold that belief? what is the chain of reasoning that takes you there?
i genuinely want to know what americans think europe actually _is_
My take spreads
As a broader point, it is beyond ridiculous that we don’t toll bridge crossings across London - particularly the ones just outside the c-charge
I’m wildly pro closing roads to cars obviously, but I am somewhat against “we lack the state capacity to fix a bridge in zone 2 london”
Most people experienced the fall of the Roman Empire as “one day the bridge fell down and no-one came to fix it”. anyway www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
I’m being driven mad by the anti delivery bot campaign. I preferred it when the meme was fully automated luxury communism
now to be fair, i would also merrily remove on-street parking for no benefit at all other than removing on-street parkign
Right! There's a fair few pavements round me where two pushchairs can't pass. It sucks, and I would MERRILY remove on-street parking to widen the pavement to fix that.
there's definitely a problem, which is that many pavements aren't wide enough for two wheeled vehicles to pass. sounds like a great thing for living streets to campaign on
my first event!
FYI, this story has been retracted by NPR www.npr.org/2026/06/30/n...
the british state is funding a doomed-to-fail campaign to get the british state to ban robots the british state is desperately trying to expand across the country
