Trump promised lower prices and no new wars.
He lied.
It’s clear that Trump & his administration have no clear plan for their war with Iran.
They’re telling people to evacuate the region, but providing no assistance. Kash Patel also FIRED a dozen agents/staff who monitor threats from Iran.
The incompetence is incredibly dangerous.
At least 6 service members have lost their lives because of Trump’s illegal war.
Congress must step up to reassert our constitutional power before more Americans are killed.
I will be supporting the War Powers Resolution to reassert Congress’s authority to declare war.
We cannot let more Americans die because of this unconstitutional, illegal war.
Trump promised no new wars.
Now, four Americans have died, and he’s threatening the lives of more troops as he wages an illegal regime-change war.
Hours before U.S. strikes in Iran, new accounts made predictions on Polymarket, which Trump Jr. is on the advisory board for, raking in massive profits.
This is beyond suspicious. No one should profit from a war that has already cost American lives — these bets need to be investigated and banned.
Trump’s illegal, unconstitutional, and deadly regime-change war was NOT based on any imminent threat. Iran was not planning on attacking U.S. forces.
Congress must vote YES on this week’s War Powers resolution to stop U.S. involvement in another forever war in the Middle East.
The American people do not want another forever war in the name of regime change.
This war, launched unilaterally by Trump, has already cost US servicemembers lives.
Trump’s attacks on Iran are both illegal and unconstitutional.
Congress alone has the constitutional authority to declare war. We must vote urgently on the War Powers resolution.
This president promised to end wars — and instead is starting new, unconstitutional wars, wasting American taxpayer dollars and putting our servicemembers at risk. He has no respect for the constitution, Congress, or the rule of law in this country. (2/2)
This is an unconstitutional war and Congress needs to vote immediately on a war powers resolution to tell the president to stop. I will be a strong yes. (1/2)
As we near the end of this Black History Month, I want to highlight a remarkable leader in our district: Michelle Merriweather, President & CEO of the Urban League of Metro Seattle!
Michelle’s dedication is an inspiration & moves us toward a future where equity is not a dream but a lived reality.
Trump’s private, for-profit detention centers are putting babies into medical distress.
Families are having to line up outside for hours in freezing temperatures or rain for each dose of medicine.
This is sick — no child should be treated this way.
The IRS broke the law over 42,000 times by giving taxpayer data to the Department of Homeland Security.
This is a total violation of privacy.
Paying taxes should not be weaponized against anyone to help Trump’s chaos and cruelty.
Trump has repeatedly let wealthy fraudsters off the hook. Why? Because they put money into his pocket.
Meanwhile, millions of Americans are struggling to stay afloat as costs keep going up.
Last week, at the Northwest Detention Center, I met with Juan, a single-father who had been detained for 46 days. Today, he was released.
We must pass my Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act and overhaul the inhumane, for-profit detention system. My full statement:
It is such an honor to work with leaders like Lauren at World Without Exploitation.
We will keep standing up and speaking out for justice, accountability, and the truth.
This morning, DHS falsely represented themselves as police and illegally arrested a Columbia University student.
I’m relieved to see she was recently released, but this is unacceptable.
ICE and CBP need to get the hell away from our students and school campuses.
Thanks to Trump, groceries are ridiculously expensive in Seattle and across the country.
In the richest country in the world, no one should have to worry about how they’ll keep food on the table for their families.
Nurul Amin Shah Alam, a nearly blind refugee, was found dead after Border Patrol abandoned him miles away from his home and without notifying his family or attorney.
This is absolutely horrifying — and completely preventable. There must be a full investigation immediately.
