Homeland Security has worked 33% fewer hours on child exploitation cases this year.
Why? Because Trump has diverted law enforcement resources AWAY from combating child trafficking so he can go after anyone who looks Latino or speaks Spanish.
In Seattle, we take pride in being a welcoming city for all people, cultures, and identities.
We look forward to hosting World Cup visitors to our beautiful city, and we cannot back down from our commitment to inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community. www.king5.com/article/news...
As prices skyrocket and Trump does nothing to lower them, Republicans took to the House floor today to instead cruelly attack trans kids.
Why are they so intent on increasing hatred and fear and stopping these children from living their lives? It’s awful.
In the 90 minutes since I posted this, I've gotten two more death notifications.
ICE has a responsibility to take care of these people, something they are clearly disregarding. This is beyond horrifying. We must ensure dignity and humanity for detained people in this country.
Within 15 minutes today, I got two back-to-back notifications of deaths at ICE facilities.
28 people have died in ICE custody since Trump took office. These facilities are overcrowded & are putting their own profits over health and safety. We need oversight & accountability NOW.
Trump's plan to denaturalize hundreds of American citizens every single month is outrageous.
Every U.S. citizen should be appalled by this. If he can do this to “them,” he can certainly do it to you.
My full statement:
You shouldn’t be charged higher costs because your grocery app is profiling you — but that’s exactly what Instacart is doing.
Their use of surveillance pricing to rip you off is alarming, and with @deluzio.house.gov, Rep. Pat Ryan, & @repangiecraig.bsky.social, I’m demanding an investigation.
Proud to stand with my colleagues @quigley.house.gov, @mcbride.house.gov, @foushee.house.gov to put forward this common sense bill to restore trust in our communities and protect public safety.
Trump’s DHS is deputizing state and local law enforcement to target immigrants.
This means local cops spending less time, energy, and resources on crime and emergency response and more on ICE raids.
It makes all of us less safe, and I’m helping to lead legislation to stop it.

I'm holding a press conference RIGHT NOW on the PROTECT Immigration Act — a bill to stop Trump from using local police in ICE raids.
Join me and @jayapal.house.gov, @mcbride.house.gov, @foushee.house.gov, @aclu.org, and @immcouncil.org by tuning into the live below.
Can you imagine a child who struggles to understand English, representing themselves in a legal proceeding, trying to cross-examine a witness, and going up against a seasoned immigration attorney?
It’s completely absurd. But this is what Trump and Republicans want.
Trump attempted to overturn a free and fair election and incited an insurrection. And the American people deserve to know what Jack Smith’s investigation found.
Democrats will keep pushing for transparency even as Republicans try to cover it up.
The American people deserve to hear, directly from Jack Smith, what his investigation into Trump found.
Instead of that transparency, today Republicans brought him in for a closed door deposition, all in an effort to cover up Trump’s attempt to overturn a free and fair election.
TPS recipients are valuable members of our communities — many of them have been here for decades working, paying taxes, building families.
Instead of stripping their legal status and forcing them back to warzones, as Trump is doing, we should be giving them a pathway to citizenship.
Thanks to Donald Trump and Republicans, your bills are getting more expensive.
The TPS program lets immigrants who are already in the US stay longer if their countries are devastated by war, natural disaster, or other harsh conditions.
Trump is dismantling it and forcing those people back to danger.
My statement on the retirement of my Washington State colleague Congressman Dan Newhouse:
Trump’s unlawful boat strikes and naval blockade around Venezuela are appalling violations of both U.S. and international law.
The American people do not want another pointless forever war. I’m voting YES on a resolution to rein in Trump’s illegal actions.
Trump and Speaker Johnson are trying to block a vote to extend ACA tax credits.
Democrats created a discharge petition and got 218 signatures — a majority of the House.
Speaker Johnson needs to bring our bill to the floor NOW and save American families from a premium hike.
Congressman Randy Fine’s comments about Muslim Americans are vile, deeply racist, and have no place in Congress.
Every single Republican should condemn these bigoted comments. I’m waiting.
