If Republicans refuse to negotiate, 4 million Americans could lose their health care — in addition to the millions that will be kicked off of Medicaid thanks to Trump's Big Bad Betrayal. Dems are fighting to protect your care. Republicans would rather shut down the government.
We simply cannot trust Trump and Republicans to stick to their word on funding agreements. Democrats have kept our promises. But Trump is clawing back funding that has already been appropriated. They have no intention to negotiate in good faith or follow the law.
Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. It is on them to govern and negotiate with Democrats if they need our votes. But instead of trying to fund the government in a bipartisan manner, they are intent on stripping health care away from even more Americans.
Democrats are standing united, ready to fund the government and save Americans’ health care. Republicans left town, refused to negotiate, and would rather shut down the government and rip health care away from millions more Americans.
Democrats are in DC, ready to negotiate and make a deal that cancels Trump and Republicans’ cuts, lowers costs, and saves health care for the American people. But Mike Johnson chose to send House Republicans home. Republicans are shutting the government down.
As ICE continues to ramp up its lawless actions, kidnapping and deporting people from communities across this country, I will continue to hold them accountable. This administration is tearing apart families, and we must continue to use our voices to fight back.
We are down to the wire, with one day left until the government shuts down. Republicans must come to the table to keep the government open and running, and protect everyday Americans instead of padding billionaires’ pockets.
Trump and Republicans have destroyed our federal agencies — furloughing and firing thousands of workers. And now, instead of governing, they’re threatening to shut the government down. It’s time for Republicans to come to the table and negotiate to keep the gov’t open.
Republicans have been breaking promises left and right — clawing back money out of bipartisan budget deals and stealing health care from millions of Americans. Democrats are holding the line to protect your health care.
170,000 Washingtonians are at risk of losing their SNAP benefits thanks to Trump’s Big Bad Betrayal — but our community is stepping up to help. No family in America should be forced to go to sleep hungry. This funding must be restored. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
Trump’s attacks on immigrants are morally horrifying, bad for our economy, unconstitutional, and hurt our national security. At every single level, these cruel and illegal policies are harming our country. We can and must do better.
Four corporations own one-third of all U.S. grocery store locations. This consolidation too often leads to higher costs, worse working conditions, and store closures. But we can stop this, as we did with the Kroger-Albertsons merger, and bring down prices.
ICYMI: I stood with the families of those killed and detained by the Israeli government and settlers to demand justice, accountability, and action by the U.S. government. Please take a moment to listen to their stories:
Grateful to my colleagues Rep. Rashida Tlaib, @chu.house.gov, @chuygarcia.house.gov, @repdexteror.bsky.social, @balint.house.gov, @repgaramendi.bsky.social, @vargas.house.gov for joining our Shadow Hearing on Trump’s assault on our communities. As Republicans refuse to conduct oversight, we will.
Republicans control Congress and the White House. It is on them to govern, and if they want Democratic votes, they need to come to the table. If not, Trump and Republicans the pain that the American people will feel from a government shutdown is on them.
The FTC’s fine on Amazon falls far short of the systemic change we need to stop monopolies from scamming families. We need a rule, not just a reaction, to take on corporate greed. Full Monopoly Busters Caucus statement with @deluzio.house.gov, @pkryan.bsky.social, and @repangiecraig.bsky.social:
