Congress returns next week as massive Republican health care cost increases are being forced on tens of millions of Americans.
So, with GOP in control of the White House, Senate, and House, why won’t they fix this mess for working families?
Because they don’t want to upset the Billionaire class.
Happy New Year! May 2026 open doors to exciting adventures, new possibilities, and boundless opportunities in the year to come for all across NW Ohio. Wishing you and your families good health and cheer as we ring in 2026!
🚨 New federal funding to improve safety for walkers, bikers, and drivers coming home to NW Ohio. This $1.3 Million means new infrastructure improvements that will make life safer and create accessible community spaces for all.
The House GOP skipped town early for the holidays and let ACA tax credits expire. This week I continue to hear from Ohioans who are seeing their insurance premiums skyrocket for 2026—rates doubling, tripling, and families losing coverage, at the holiday season. Shameless cruelty!

“It’s a Wonderful Life” came out in 1946, but its message still rings true. The wealthy prosper, while the working class struggle to get by. 1 in 3 Americans have had to dip into emergency savings, and 40% can’t cover a $1,000 emergency. That doesn't seem like a Wonderful Life for working families.
As the seven nights of Kwanzaa begin, wishing all observing a joyous celebration of culture, heritage, and shared values spent with family, friends, community, and those you hold close.

Wising a very Merry Christmas to all celebrating this morning! May the magic of Christmas fill your home with love, laughter, light, and time spent with family, friends, and those you hold dear. At this time of year, let us remember to be kind, generous, and to put others first.
I hope that you may be surrounded by beautiful holiday memories of friends, family, and those you hold dear.
Wishing you warmth, joy, love, and light this holiday season.
At this time of year many of us take time for contemplation, celebration, and to take stock of what has taken place over the past year, as we begin anew with the start of 2026.
From Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa, to Festivus, Christmas, and New Years — whatever you may be celebrating this time of year —
As we enter the heart of the holiday season, NW Ohio’s main streets are lined with small businesses that have something for every person on your holiday list this season.
If you still have gifts to get, or shopping to do, I hope you’ll check out small businesses across our communities. #ShopLocal

Honored the life and legacy of Michael L. Friedman of Toledo, Ohio. A devoted public servant, proud veteran of the 180th Fighter Wing and indefatigable community leader whose half century of impact on NW Ohio will long endure. America is stronger and more just because of citizens like Mike Friedman.
This week I spoke out against dangerous cuts to MARAD, and introduced bipartisan legislation to strengthen federal port infrastructure investment across our Great Lakes region. Our NW Ohio ports generate $900 Million in annual economic activity and sustain over 8,000 jobs.
Happy Birthday to the United States Space Force! We salute the Guardians of the Higher Frontier who protect our nation beyond Earth’s horizon.
Your service strengthens our security, advances innovation, and inspires new generations to dream big, reach higher and explore farther.
Release the Epstein Files. All of them! My vote helped require the Trump Administration to release the Epstein Files today and they covered their tracks. The Administration is violating federal law by not fully releasing the files. They were kids! For shame.
A four year high in unemployment, grocery and energy costs through the roof . . . American workers see through the spin.
Nothing Congress voted on this week lowers costs for working families.
We asked Speaker Johnson to change that. He refused.
We have a discharge with 218 signatures to keep health care costs from rising nationwide. It didn't get a vote.
Abhorrent. Self-serving. GOP In the pocket of Billionaires.
