People in NW Ohio are paying at the pump for the War in Iran and it’s hurting mightily. We need to end the non-stop wars, open the Strait of Hormuz, and stop forcing hardworking Ohio families to pay for this war of choice.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Too many women carry this trauma in silence, without support or justice. In Northwest Ohio and across our nation, we must stand with survivors. Know your power. Lean on your village. You are not alone, and your voice matters.
US Army General Randy George's service as an American soldier reflects decades of unwavering patriotic commitment to our nation. He led at every level academically, and then served from platoon to theater. His career was not measured in titles, but in sacrifice, and judgment forged over time.
73 days ago the GOP Congress shut down DHS—their 3rd shutdown this year. While DHS workers have been paid out of other funds—the House needs to vote on the unanimous Senate-passed bill to end this shutdown and get workers paid throughout the fiscal year.
The Trump Administration tariffs and $20 Billion they doled out to Argentina from US taxpayers, was not well received in regions like the one I represent in NW Ohio. Imagine how those dollars could be used instead to help farmers meet the increasing costs they're bearing right now.

Free trade deals have been a disaster. We’re hitting the road to ask working people what comes next. Join us in Toledo, O-H-I-O, on May 6th with Rep. Marcy Kaptur, Rep. Debbie Dingell, UAW Region 2B Director Dave Green, and expert guest economist Thea Lee.
It’s an economy built for Billionaires, but billed to everyone else. In 2024, Speaker Johnson and the GOP promised if they won the White House, Senate, and House that they’d bring prices down on Day 1. It’s Day 478 of the GOP rubber stamp Congress and prices have only gone up and up and up.
NW Ohioans shouldn’t have to choose between gas and groceries—but too many do, thanks to reckless tariffs and the Iran war fallout. Wish the GOP and this Administration focused more on affordability and less on running foreign policy via Truth Social.

In January, Policy Task Force Co-Chairs Ross and Kamlager-Dove led DWC in demanding the Office of the Inspector General investigate the DOJ’s mishandling of the Epstein files. Today, the Office of the Inspector General notified us that they have launched an investigation.
Water and energy are closely linked at a time when energy demand and energy bills are rising. We must produce clean energy that lowers costs, creates jobs, and protects our air and water. NW Ohio has proven through efforts like the GLRI that when we steward our environment, we invest in our people.
It’s an honor to represent NW Ohio in the heart of our Great Lakes region—part of the largest body of fresh water on Earth. These waters aren’t only our heritage—they represent our economy, health and way of life. This #EarthDay let us commit to protect our precious resources for future generations.
Hungary’s recent and historic election ended the repressive rule of Russia leaning Prime Minister Victor Orbán. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Hungarian Caucus, I cheer with Hungarian Americans thrilled at Prime Minister Péter Magyar's victory for Liberty in Hungary. Bravo! Onward!
Thank you Allen Dean of Dean Farms, Alan Sundermeier of Conservation Action Project, Clint and Joe Nester, Williams Soil and Water, and all farmers, producers, and growers involved for a great discussion on water quality and conservation practices being put in to place across our NW Ohio region.
There is no good explanation for this Administration to quietly lift sanctions on Russia late on a Friday night. Congress and the American people need immediate answers. We must not help Russia fund its illegal war in Ukraine and aid Iranian attacks on American troops.
