I’m thinking of Shirley Chisholm this #BlackHistoryMonth. I stand on her shoulders, carrying forward her vision in service to my district and our communities. Because she dared to run, I dared to lead. Unbossed and unbought, always.
From Dr. King to Shirley Chisholm, the Divine Nine has shaped our nation’s path. We fought for voting rights, civil rights, and opportunity for all. As attacks on our history and DEI continue, we stand firm. Black history is American history, and we’re not going back.
The Trump administration eliminated the IRS Direct File Program, making tax filing harder. I support the Direct File Act to revive and codify the free online tax filing program. If you run into any IRS issues this tax season, call my office at 708-679-0078.
At least 8 people have been killed by Noem’s Gestapo agents in 2026. Luis G. Núñez Cáceres Geraldo Lunas Campos Víctor Manuel Díaz Parady La Renee Nicole Good Luis Beltrán Yáñez–Cruz Heber Sánchez Domínguez Alex Pretti There must be accountability. We must impeach Kristi Noem NOW. buff.ly/CmkUGW8
Enough is enough. I am leading the effort to impeach Secretary Kristi Noem because her abuse of power cannot be ignored. No one is above the law. Congress has a duty to respond when officials break the constitution, and I am doing exactly that.
President Trump launched his own “TrumpRx” website, celebrating “discounts.” This is after he cut Medicaid by $1 billion and let ACA tax credits expire. Americans are still stuck with high drug prices. Americans need real policy changes. Full stop.
One of my articles of impeachment against Secretary Noem accuses her of steering $200 million of taxpayer dollars to an ad firm owned by a personal friend. Those ads spew racist, white supremacy propaganda to recruit ICE agents. It must end.
I introduced the Freeze ICE Act to stop hiring of new ICE agents with @repfletcher.bsky.social. We should not expand ICE while serious questions about conduct and training remain unanswered. Who are the people behind the masks? Are they Jan. 6 insurrectionists?
🧵Today, I introduced the Freeze ICE Act. As Americans across the country express deep concerns that ICE agents are violating the Constitution and causing hardship, a hiring freeze is needed until there is accountability and transparency to ensure the safety of the American people. (1/2)
A federal judge blocked Noem’s attempt to deport over 350,000 Haitians under temporary protected status. It’s time for Congress to act. I signed onto @Pressley.house.gov's discharge petition to force a vote on extending TPS for Haitians. Deporting families back to a country in crisis is inhumane.
Outside of Father Pfleger's church, a mother was shot and killed in a car with her baby in the backseat. The trauma is unbearable. Father Pfleger asked me for prayers--and action. Only action will take weapons of war off our streets. I will never give up in this fight to end gun violence.
I was at Kristi Noem’s front steps at ICE headquarters yesterday, so she heard us loud and clear: Congress is watching. The American people are watching. We do not like what we see. Noem, it’s time for you to go. I’m impeaching you.
