No one is above the law. Epstein’s victims and survivors — and the American people — deserve transparency, justice, and accountability
Speaker Johnson needs to swear in Rep-elect Grijalva. Then we can vote to release the files.
5,400 people in our district will lose their health coverage because Republicans refuse to extend critical ACA tax credits to lower our monthly payments.
@HouseDemocrats.bsky.social and I are fighting to protect affordable healthcare and deliver real solutions for working families.
Today I’m joining @jayapal.house.gov, @chuygarcia.house.gov, @ramirez.house.gov and Rep. Danny Davis to listen to people impacted by Trump’s assault on Chicago.
We’re demanding accountability for immigrant families torn apart and lives upended by his unlawful actions.
Watch live:
It’s Day 23 of the Republican Shutdown.
Families are struggling, paychecks are delayed, and vital programs are stalled.
@HouseDemocrats.bsky.social and I are in Washington fighting to reopen the government, protect healthcare, and get relief to the people who need it most.

My statement on the raids conducted today in Little Village and Cicero:
I won’t fall for Trump’s games.
He hurt Illinois soybean farmers when he started a shortsighted trade war with China. China normally buys a quarter of American soybeans, but refuses to buy any more due to Trump’s tariffs.

Trump’s playbook:
1️⃣ Start a crisis.
2️⃣ Blame someone else.
3️⃣ Announce a “fix.”
4️⃣ Repeat.
Now he’s releasing $3B in farm aid frozen during the Republican shutdown to help farmers struggling due to his trade wars.
Families can’t afford higher monthly health insurance bills because @houserepublicans.bsky.social refuses to do their job.
15,000 people in the Second District will pay more each month if Republicans let critical ACA tax credits expire.
It’s time to put people over politics.
The shutdown is causing flight delays in Chicago due to air traffic control staff shortages.
Instead of ending the shutdown, Republicans are making life harder for travelers, workers, and airports across the country.

I joined thousands of farmers and ag leaders in Decatur for the 2025 Farm Progress Show. A highlight was visiting the Uni. Illinois tent to see students and faculty leading innovative research to strengthen Illinois agriculture and support local farmers. 🌾
Illinois families are terrified they can’t afford groceries next week.
Millions of Illinoisans just got alerts that their SNAP benefits are at risk.
While Trump is building a ballroom, he’s leaving Americans to starve.
This is the real cost of the Republican Shutdown.
The politically-motivated charges against @RepLaMonica.bsky.social should be dropped. She was simply doing her job and seeking answers for her constituents.
The Trump Administration is trying to bully her into submission, but we will never bend the knee.
Trump is spending his time redecorating the White House to look like Mar-a-Lago instead of reopening the government or lowering your health care costs.
Never forget, he’ll always put himself first, not you.
It’s been two weeks since a South Shore resident showed @ramirez.house.gov, @chuygarcia.house.gov, & @jonathanjackson.house.gov, and me the damage ICE left behind after their militarized raid. What I saw is unacceptable.
I haven’t stopped demanding accountability for these Gestapo-style tactics.
Wishing a happy Diwali to all who celebrate.
May this Festival of Lights bring peace, joy, and prosperity to your families, and remind us all of the power of light triumphing over darkness.
President Trump’s Big, Ugly Law cuts funding from hospitals, which particularly hurts rural hospitals. Rural hospitals and nursing homes are in jeopardy, including 9 in Illinois.
Republicans are shutting down the government and our hospitals.
@HouseDemocrats.bsky.social are fighting back.
Week 4 of the Republican shutdown. Still no response from House Republicans.
Gun violence is a public health crisis that steals too many lives.
I helped pass real solutions to gun violence, like CVI funding.
But President Trump cut that funding and instead deployed the National Guard.
Troops are not the answer to crime.
