Here's a civics lesson, Donald: Congress has the power of the purse, not you.
You can't bully Congress out of our Constitutional authority — @housedemocrats.bsky.social will not allow you to cut or withhold funding for these vital programs.

Let's be clear: withholding federal funding to provide Americans with affordable healthcare, education and care for our children, access to healthy food, and housing assistance isn't just morally wrong — it's unconstitutional.
Trump claims this won't impact "individual assistance," but his dangerous directive shut down Medicaid's payment portal in all 50 states and Head Start's system in several states too.
Who knows what will happen when the court's block on the freeze is lifted?
🧵I'll keep it real — it's still unclear what exactly would be impacted by Trump's harmful and reckless federal money freeze.
But we do know it caused chaos across government yesterday, even prompting an emergency court ruling blocking the freeze until at least February 3.
I am deeply alarmed by M23’s capture of Goma in DRC and condemn the rebel groups’ blocking of humanitarian access. Continued Rwandan support to the M23 is unacceptable.
I urge all parties to restart talks and recommit to the existing ceasefire agreement.
Medicaid’s payment system went down in all 50 states. Head Start’s payment system went down in California and many other states.
Enough with the gaslighting.
Trump’s foreign aid freeze is a gross abandonment of our own interests, a day-one gift to our competitors, and a devastating blow to the world’s most vulnerable populations.

After spreading disinformation about Democrats withholding FEMA funding, Trump himself just froze all disaster aid.
Fires are still raging in CA and communities across the country are still recovering from disasters, and now Donald Trump is leaving us all out to dry.

📁Taxes can suck. That's why President Biden made it possible to file online for FREE.

The Holocaust did not occur in a vacuum—the Nazis' atrocities began with dehumanization, discrimination, & scapegoating.
As we observe #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay, we mourn the 6 million Jews & millions of others murdered & recommit to fighting hate wherever it occurs.
The immigration policies Trump is implementing range from unconstitutional to un-American to incredibly costly.
These policies are dangerous and must be stopped.
Republicans would rather compromise our own national security by elevating a grossly incompetent, unqualified, and abusive man than stand up to Donald Trump.
GOP, grow a spine.
The goal of H.R. 21 is clear: to further strip women of their fundamental rights by threatening doctors and healthcare providers with jail time.
So, now Republicans want to lock up those who save lives while freeing cop killers?
With reports that Trump immigration raids could target Los Angeles, it's important to prepare.
Federal, state, and local law entitles everyone to certain rights, regardless of your immigration status. Save and share the resources below and know your rights!
52 years ago today, Roe v. Wade became the law of the land, giving women the right to make decisions about their own bodies. But those freedoms have now been stripped away.
We have to stay vigilant. Women still have political and electoral power—I hope we use it.
“America First” means passing CA disaster aid without conditions.
“America First” means helping those unhoused by the fires.
“America First” means making homeowner insurance accessible to everyone.
President Trump—it would be wise to learn what putting America First truly means.
Donald Trump has big plans to cut taxes for corporations and billionaires so they can line their pockets.
But he has no plans to lower the costs of the products they sell.

I am incredibly grateful that Ryan Corbett & William McKenty are coming home thanks to President Biden's negotiations.
Joe Biden made this deal to ensure they could escape the brutality of the Taliban—the 1,660 vetted Afghan refugees Donald Trump just stranded deserve the same.
