I value the chance to meet one-on-one during community office hours, and hear directly about the issues that matter most to you. This weekend we spent a few hours at Orchard Valley Coffee, a happy haunt of mine when I lived in Campbell 20 years ago.
We recently celebrated more than $14 million in Community Project Funding that we delivered back home. Over $6 million will help address our housing crisis in separate projects in Mountain View, San José, Pacifica, and the West Valley.
Rita Mancera and Puente step up for our immigrant neighbors, meeting this moment with compassion and courage while addressing the very real fear families feel right now. I’m honored to have her by my side for the State of the Union.
Along with my SOTU guest, Rita Mancera, I am honored to welcome her colleagues Mayra Chavez and Arlae Alston to Washington. We are so grateful for their critical work uplifting our community.
Introducing my State of the Union guest, Rita Mancera—Executive Director of Puente. Rita works every day to bridge independence for underserved rural communities in San Mateo County, particularly our farmworkers.

Great joining the launch of the Latino Leadership Program at Menlo College.
At this moment more than any other, our community and our country needs Latino leadership in our boardrooms, classrooms, courtrooms, and the chambers of our government.
Adelante – you are the future America needs.
For neighbors currently in Mexico, the U.S. State Department will update its guidance as conditions change. If you need assistance dial:
📞 From Mexico: (55) 8526-2561
📞 From the United States: +1-844-528-6611
📞 Department of State – Consular Affairs: +1-888-407-4747 or +1-202-501-4444
Oligarchical control of our media presents grave enough peril, but the threat multiplies with the meddling of the White House.
With today’s weather conditions, remember: if you see a downed power line in our community, please stay clear. Do NOT touch or attempt to move any downed lines. Call 911 and Pacific Gas and Electric Company at 1-800-743-5002 immediately.
Be safe.

Ramadan Mubarak to our neighbors observing across our community. Wishing you and your loved ones peace, reflection, and renewal this blessed month.
The first time I voted at 18, I cast my ballot for Jesse Jackson. I’m forever grateful for his service and inspiration.

Congress has more work to do, and I look forward to continuing this work together.
Honored to receive the Housing Champion Award from Habitat for Humanity. Their work starts with a simple belief—that everyone deserves a decent place to live — and transforms that faith into real homes and stronger communities.
Our community health centers keep showing up for our most vulnerable neighbors even in the face of the Administration’s severe cuts to Medi-Cal. Thank you to the leaders of our local health centers for coming to DC to discuss how we can work together to mitigate harm and save lives.
