Heartbroken to learn David Scott has passed away. As the first Black Chairman of @houseagdems.bsky.social, he was an incredible champion for farmers & folks in rural communities. His tireless commitment to fighting hunger was an inspiration. My prayers are with his family, friends, and staff.
On Donald Trump’s command, Republicans in state legislatures are pushing through rigged maps to steal the midterms for MAGA. We did not start this–but we CAN NOT AND WILL NOT let Trump’s authoritarianism lock Democrats out of government forever. Well done Virginia.
Virginia Democrats have won a ballot measure to redraw the state's congressional maps, netting up to four new blue seats. This directly counteracts Trump and Republicans' gerrymander in Texas.
Jim McGovern continues to go off: "This farm bill is a disaster. It's awful. It's terrible. It's beyond words. It's a giveaway to Big Ag and chemical companies. There's actually liability protection in this bill for people who make pesticides. Like, who thinks like that?!" Keep cooking, Jim! 🔥
Democratic Rep. Jim McGovern slams Republicans for their FISA provision last week: "Republicans spent most of last week negotiating with themselves...The sloppy way they drafted this provision may have actually expanded warrantless surveillance in some cases, not eliminated it." Go Jim!
The corruption in this White House would make Nixon blush. From sketchy 12am transactions, to multi-billion dollar crypto scams & corporate bribes, the Trump crime family is up to their shoulders in the swamp they promised to drain. I pressed Trump's CFTC chief for answers. WATCH:
Grocery prices are through the roof because of Trump's terrible tariffs & costly war of choice. But instead of working to lower costs, Republicans are pushing through a horrible Farm Bill that locks in their $187 BILLION cut to nutrition assistance for 5 YEARS. It's outrageous.
This Republican Majority should pass legislation to help rural communities and farmers. Instead they’re choosing to waste time on a participation trophy resolution that literally could have been an email. You can’t make this stuff up.
Beef prices just hit a record high. A pound of ground beef in many stores now costs more than the federal minimum hourly wage. These people are so out of touch it’s ridiculous.
Hassett: "When I came in, the only thing everybody was talking about was the high price of eggs. Now egg prices are so low that farmers are actually complaining about it. Beef prices came down ... so we've made a huge amount of progress on the individual items that affect inflation."
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. JD Vance and his negotiating team of nepo babies & real estate developers have no idea what the hell they’re doing.
THANK YOU to folks in Ashland, Holliston, and Southborough for coming to my town hall this weekend! People here are angry about Trump’s reckless war in Iran, this administration’s rampant corruption, and Republicans’ crushing economy. Thanks Ashland Library for hosting!
Great to stop by Working for Worcester’s Build Day rally! Students from colleges all over central MA graciously spent their weekend renovating parks, schools, and public places—thank you Holy Cross for organizing this incredible event to help make our community a cleaner place to live!
Making our communities cleaner & healthier shouldn’t be a partisan issue. Great to attend Worcester Regional Environmental Council’s 36th annual Earth Day Cleanup Kickoff! Everyone deserves a clean & healthy place to live, work and play—I’m so thankful for the volunteers cleaning up our city!
Great to meet this week with AARP to talk about how I’m fighting to protect social security & Medicaid so our seniors can live with dignity. THANK YOU for all you do to support our senior community!
