Service is a core aspect of our American identity. I was thrilled to be at Florin High School to discuss the potential of national service with @americorps.bsky.social volunteers.
When you talk about our big challenges—like fighting climate change—service organizations are working to address these.

Today, we celebrated the groundbreaking of Sutter Health’s new Elk Grove Specialty Care Center!
This care center will bring much needed resources to the region—more appointments, physicians, and public health awareness—all of which will keep our community healthy and strong.
Attacking @americorps.bsky.social is proof that Trump does not understand what it means to serve. National service is the core of who we are as a country.
I led 149 of our colleagues in pushing back on the cuts DOGE made to AmeriCorps. We will keep fighting.

If you need help navigating a federal agency, my staff will be at Meals on Wheels in Sacramento on April 24 to help you obtain reliable information and make inquiries on your behalf.
This #EarthDay, I joined CalEPIC, Sacramento City Unified, and the Masons of California to launch the Green Career Pathways Program—training students in EV charging, battery systems, and clean energy careers. Investing in young people and green tech is how we build a sustainable Sacramento.
As @houseseec.bsky.social Lands, Waters, & Nature Task Force Co-Chair, I'm introducing a Congressional Resolution recognizing #EarthDay, highlighting the progress we've made & condemning the reckless actions taken by the Trump Administration to erode this progress.

Happy #Easter to all who celebrate in the Sacramento region and across the country! May this day be a symbol of reflection, gratitude and new beginnings. 🌷🐣
I’m introducing the Protect National Service Act to block any attempt to defund this vital program. We won’t stand by while they try to destroy national service.

.@americorps.bsky.social members are on the front lines — tutoring kids, rebuilding after disasters, and strengthening our communities.
Now, Trump and Elon Musk want to gut AmeriCorps with zero plan and zero justification.
Disturbing an already fragile supply chain will have serious & deadly consequences on patients who can’t survive delays, our hospitals’ ability to render care effectively, & our military readiness.
This isn’t a policy for the people, it’s an attack on public health.

Despite last night's court orders to release frozen Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund dollars, EPA remains undeterred in its witch hunt & has already filed for an appeal of the ruling. We reiterate that EPA must stop this campaign of intimidation & do the job it was mandated to do.
Join the City of Sacramento and @tricountiesbank.bsky.social on April 17 for a seminar on how to detect scammers who prey on seniors.
From 11am-1pm at the Sacramento Senior Hart Center, you can learn the common signs of scam and what resources you have to protect yourself and your loved ones.
President Trump is selling out our federal forests to logging companies, recklessly threatening biodiversity, our climate, and our clean water supply.
I'm calling for USDA and the Department of the Interior to reverse this destructive decision and safeguard the natural beauty of our federal lands!
#SocialSecurity is a promise made BY the American people TO the American people.
We see what the Trump Administration is trying to do and we won’t let it happen. I will find every available avenue to stop these attacks on you and your family.
Donald Trump will not win.

I’m proud to have earned a 100% score from @fp4america.bsky.social for the 118th Congress.
I support FP4A’s mission to advocate for principled U.S. engagement in the world and diplomacy-first strategies and I am honored to receive this recognition. #FP4America
Without oversight, infant formula, medications, & cosmetics are all less safe. It's shocking that RFK Jr. has cut 20% of FDA. Regulatory have consequences like more foodborne illnesses. We must protect this critical workforce & fight this Admin's crusade against science. #NPHW

Republicans’ SAVE Act will restrict access to the ballot box for millions of eligible American citizens.
If you don’t have a passport or a birth certificate with your current legal name, the SAVE Act threatens your fundamental right to vote.
This isn’t election security — it’s voter suppression.
Republicans just doubled down on their attack on families, children, and hard-working Americans.
🚫 $880B cut from Medicaid

💸 $7T in tax breaks for the richest Americans
I voted NO on their shameful budget plan.
Trump's flip-flopping on tariffs isn't just harmful to Americans' wallets—it's playing with patients' lives.
That’s why I led a letter with @repschneider.bsky.social imploring the Trump Administration to choose patients over tariffs that could harm their lives.

Despite decades of data on the safety of the MMR vaccine and numerous studies showing no correlation between vaccination and Autism Spectrum Disorder, HHS is funding another study to examine settled science.
This study is not only wasteful, it is reckless and will spread further vaccine distrust.
