I was proud to be an early signer on the clean Democratic discharge petition for a 3 year extension of life-saving tax credits to make health care more affordable, which today reached the threshold to force a separate bipartisan vote on the House floor in January.
The Republican legislation before the House does not address the rising costs of health care that are burdening American families.
As a two-time breast cancer survivor navigating additional health challenges in my own family, I know firsthand how access, affordability, and care determine outcomes.
My statement on H.R. 6703:
I was not able to be present in Washington due to an urgent health matter with my husband, Curtis. We appreciate the well wishes from those near and far.
If I had been able to vote remotely today, I would have voted NO.
The attack on Hanukkah celebrations on Bondi Beach is a painful reminder of the hatred and antisemitism that fuels violence.
All those whose lives have been broken are in my heart. No person should ever live in fear of harm because of who they are or what they believe.
I've led the CREATES Act to help states maintain databases of available credentials to help Americans find good jobs and keep them.

Without access to maternal care, women and their babies have worse health outcomes.
ICE facilities around the nation are not meeting minimum standards for care.
The @demwomencaucus.bsky.social is urging the Trump administration to end this mistreatment immediately.

Two separate judges ruled that the Trump Administration must make a plan to continue funding SNAP, the program that helps feed kids and families.
The President and USDA have access to billions of dollars in contingency funds. They must use that funding to make sure Georgians don’t go hungry.
Thanks to a philanthropic effort, metro Atlanta Head Start locations will remain open, but the same can't be said for providers in rural Georgia and across the country.
We must end this government shutdown, protect health care, and stop the threats to programs that serve children and families.
Head Start is facing threats once again, this time due to the government shutdown.
I was pleased to return to the Chattahoochee Early Learning Center with the Atlanta YMCA to sound the alarm about these impacts.

@demwomencaucus.bsky.social #MammographyMonday
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I'm joining DWC to spread awareness about early detection & mammograms.
Twice, I received the news that I had breast cancer. Twice, I was lucky to catch it. I am now a two-time survivor.
Please speak with your doctor about your own risk & steps you can take.🩷
I'm grateful to advocates for joining the Democratic Women's Caucus at a roundtable about the stakes of this health care fight.
Your stories hit home for all of us. We're stronger together.
