AI is everywhere—and without civil rights protections, it can worsen the discrimination our communities already face. That's why Congress should pass my AI Civil Rights Act with @markey.senate.gov and @repyvetteclarke.bsky.social. We cannot allow AI innovation without AI protections.
Housing is stability, security, dignity, & a human right. I held an urgent roundtable to sound the alarm on how Trump's funding cuts to the Continuum of Care program & the delays in Section 8 payments are placing enormous strain in the #MA7.
Rep. Ayanna Pressley holds a roundtable to sound the alarm on the housing crisis created by Donald Trump and his harmful cuts to Continuum of Care programs and Section 8 housing.

I voted against Republicans’ $900 BILLION military spending bill.   It blocks healthcare coverage for IVF, bans DEI initiatives, undermines military readiness, and expands ICE’s power to attack immigrants. The public doesn’t support this bill and neither do I.
Healthcare is not a nice-to-have, it's a must-have. Republicans have made it clear: they do not care if people's healthcare costs skyrocket or lose healthcare altogether. They could have done something to tackle the healthcare crisis they created. Instead, they have failed millions.
LATEST: Republican-controlled Senate votes to reject health care bills offered by each party, as the U.S. barrels toward a cliff with steep premium hikes for millions of Americans set to hit next month.
@liccardo.house.gov & I are deeply concerned about the implications of this sale for data privacy, democracy & our media ecosystem. If Warner Brothers Discovery moves forward with this deal, there must be a thorough review & rigorous oversight that protects our communities & interests.
🟡 NEW: As the battle over Warner Bros. Discovery grows, two Democratic lawmakers are warning that their party may try to block or unravel any acquisition by Paramount when it returns to power. www.semafor.com/article/12/1...
Rümeysa Öztürk should never have been ripped away from our Somerville community. I'm glad that she'll be able to continue her research, teaching, & service to our district while her case plays out. The Trump Administration must stop targeting her & restore her visa without delay.
A federal judge has allowed a Tufts University student from Turkey to resume research and teaching while she deals with the consequences of having her visa revoked by the Trump administration, leading to six weeks of detention.
While borrowers and families struggle with the cost of living, Trump just ended the most affordable student loan repayment plan in history. Republicans don't care about affordability and they never have. The shame and sham of it all.
Big change for student loan borrowers: The Education Department has proposed a legal settlement that would end the SAVE repayment plan. More than 7 million borrowers have been in limbo for over a year, with payments paused since June 2024, interest restarting in August. Read more: bit.ly/4p39KIx
With the help of community and legal advocates, seven of our neighbors are home with their families - but we won’t stop fighting until all our neighbors are released. And we’ll hold this lawless administration accountable every step of the way.
A daughter abducted alongside her mom and uncle, worrying about her elderly grandma back home. Four of these workers spent their birthdays sleeping on cold floors.  But instead of allowing this cruelty defeat us, the Allston community rose in defense of its neighbors.
I met with the seven freed workers who shared harrowing testimony of their experiences & the inhumane treatment they endured while detained. A 67-year-old man whose medications were withheld for days. A diabetic mother given improper nourishment that worsened her condition.
Pregnant women are being detained & denied access to essential reproductive care. And the ability to raise families is threatened by Trump's unlawful deportation campaign. Our resolution affirms that nobody should be policed, and everyone should be met with the humanity & dignity they deserve.
We cannot allow AI to be the latest chapter in America’s history of exploiting marginalized people. That's why I'm joining @repyvetteclarke.bsky.social and @markey.senate.gov on a bill to help protect our civil rights and liberties in the age of AI.
It's long past time we prioritize affordability, accessibility, & sustainability in public transportation — including through fare-free transit. That's why I'm leading my colleagues demanding Congress do just that in the next surface transportation bill.
This investment is meaningful—but economic justice cannot and must not depend on the benevolence of billionaires. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent must issue equitable guidance to ensure Trump Accounts uplift our most vulnerable families and not leave these children behind.
Breaking News: Michael and Susan Dell said they would put $250 in individual investment accounts for 25 million American children, expanding the reach of soon-to-be-created "Trump accounts."
Healthcare is not a nice-to-have, it's a must-have. Democrats are united in extending ACA tax credits that have been a lifeline for families. Now we just need four Republicans of conscience to join us and help save healthcare for millions of people.
BREAKING: All House Democrats have signed our discharge petition to extend the ACA tax credits. That makes 214. We can protect health care and lower costs — if only 4 Republicans will join us.
