BREAKING: Tufts Student Rümeysa Öztürk Released From ICE Detention by Judge
@pressley.house.gov told @mehdirhasan.bsky.social that Öztürk had received no religious accommodation, including for her diet and prayer, plus her hijab was removed without her consent.

Congresswoman @pressley.house.gov asks us to imagine a future where everyone who needs health care can get it. “I’m just audacious enough to believe that we can #ProtectMedicaid and have care, not cuts… The budget proposal is cruel. The cruelty is the point.”

Trump and the WWE Secretary want to seize folks' wages, tax refunds, & Social Security checks if their student loans are in default.
My bill with @booker.senate.gov and @warren.senate.gov would stop it.

U.S. Rep. @pressley.house.gov (D-MA) joined Mehdi to discuss Trump’s America where any dissenting opinion could lead to incarceration.

Thank you @pressley.house.gov for continuously speaking out against cuts to SNAP!
SNAP is essential for families and individuals in MA and nationwide.
Republicans' budget sham is a direct attack on reproductive healthcare.
It would gut Medicaid, defund Planned Parenthood, worsen the maternal morbidity crisis, & leave millions without essential care.
We will defend your reproductive freedom and do everything to stop this bill.

Right now, Energy & Commerce Committee Republicans are trying to force through cuts to Medicaid, "defund" Planned Parenthood, and attack reproductive care.
Co-Chairs @degette.house.gov and @pressley.house.gov are proud to join @energycommerce.bsky.social in saying NO WAY. Read our full statement👇

As I said when it was issued, President Trump's executive order targeting the Smithsonian Institution is an affront to understanding our U.S. history and to generations of Americans. Glad to join @pressley.house.gov in demanding an investigation into the impacts of this dangerous order.
For 24 hours, @caringacross.org held a vigil with advocates & families that rely on Medicaid.
Folks shared their stories & their fears if Republicans slash Medicaid and rip away healthcare from millions.
Medicaid is a lifeline & we CANNOT let Republicans’ cruel bill become law.

"I am so excited to get back to my studies, community, professors, and students."
Rümeysa Öztürk was welcomed back to Massachusetts by @pressley.house.gov, @markey.senate.gov, and her Tufts community following 45 agonizing days unjustly detained by ICE for writing an op-ed.

I'm relieved to learn that American Edan Alexander has been released and is headed to reunite with his family.
It is dire and urgent that humanitarian aid into Gaza resume and an immediate and lasting ceasefire is desperately needed to save lives.
Our destinies are truly tied.
Republicans want to eliminate the FERS supplement – a retirement benefit that helps career public servants make ends meet before Social Security kicks in.
It's a lifeline, especially for veterans & employees with disabilities.
Ripping it away from them is not only cruel, it is unnecessary.
Happy Mother's Day!
Today I'm thinking of the families who've lost loved ones to homicide.
TY Louis D. Brown Peace Institute for convening us at your annual Mother's Day Walk for Peace, a beloved tradition & reminder of the Work that remains to address gun violence & advance healing.
Proud to continue my service on the Task Force on Aging and Families to safeguard benefits and advance an affirmative agenda that centers our seniors.
Our elders have spent their lives building our communities, and they deserve to age with dignity, security, and humanity.
As Trump, Musk, and Republicans threaten to gut Medicaid, Social Security, and other essential programs, we cannot and will not stand by.
