Trump and the Republicans just gave ICE Detention $45B to expand their capacity six former prison sites in Colorado are being considered for new ICE detention centers.
To protect immigrant families we must make sure Colorado does not become a part of Trump’s plan to terrorize immigrant communities.

.@SCOTUS just gave Trump the green light to continue to gut our federal workforce & slash tens of thousands of employees.
These are people who we not only rely on for services but also people who live in our communities, have families and contribute to our economy.
Today is Black Women's Equal Pay Day, marking how much further into the year Black women have to work to earn what white men earned in the previous year.
I helped write and pass the strongest equal pay law in the country in CO. And I will keep working so that every woman is paid their work.
Happy birthday to my mom, who has taught me the most about empathy, forgiveness, and fighting for those who are often left behind.
After 30 years of struggling with addiction, we were finally able to give my mom the support she needed, and everyone deserves that same chance.
I love you, Mom.
The incompetence of this administration is deadly. Secretary Kristi Noem should step down immediately. This isn’t a reality TV show. Do your fucking jobs.

Once again, Trump has illegally frozen funds already approved by Congress – this time, $71 million for CO schools, endangering programs working families rely on.
Investing in our kids is essential for our long-term success, and these deep cuts will be catastrophic.

🚨 Planned Parenthood just announced they can no longer serve patients in Colorado who are covered by Medicaid because of the Republican’s budget bill.
I've relied on Planned Parenthood for basic care, I’m devastated about the women who'll be left with nowhere else to go.

Calling all potential interns📞
My office is currently accepting fall internship applications for DC and Colorado. It's a great opportunity to learn more about the legislative process, public service, and serving the people of CO-07. Apply here by July 15th

As we grapple with the devastating floods in Texas, my heart is with everyone affected.
Slashing hundreds of key positions across federal agencies has severe consequences, and this is just the beginning of examples to come.

As Trump slashes federal funding & drives up costs, it’s more important than ever that we support families and invest in our communities.
I'm using my position to advocate for millions of dollars for local projects in #CO07, and I’ll keep fighting to make sure these investments are delivered.
I know how scared people are right now because of the cruel and illegal actions of the Trump Administration. Now more than ever we need fierce advocates, organizers, attorneys, and community leaders working together for a more just and humane immigration system and I’m proud to stand alongside them.
I’m honored to receive the Michael Maggio Award from @aila.org for my work in Congress supporting immigrant communities and to be recognized by @bradleywhitford.bsky.social who has been a tireless advocate for immigrant rights.
Please know you’re not alone – so many of us are holding you in our hearts as you grapple with these losses and begin to rebuild.

Thinking of families in Texas as floods continue to devastate communities across the state – especially the campers and counselors at Camp Mystic.
I can’t begin to imagine the grief families are feeling right now. My heart breaks for those who have lost everything in such a short time.
@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social has been speaking on the floor for 4 hours about the consequences of this Big Ugly Bill. He recognized Sam and I for flying to DC every week to fight for the American people and against this bill.
Leader Jeffries makes us proud and one day, Sam will be too.
The GOP claimed their billionaire-first budget would save money but we’ve known all along that was a lie.
Now it’s confirmed: millions will be uninsured & trillions of dollars will be added to the debt.
All to give tax handouts to the wealthiest people in the world.

Colorado's public lands are who we are — they drive our economy & define our way of life.
And we just stopped Republicans’ attempt to sell them off to the highest bidder.
Thanks to everyone who spoke out and sent a clear message: these are our lands and we will never let you take them from us.
For the first time since 1868, citizenship for families across the country now hangs in the balance.
The Supreme Court has allowed President Trump to end birthright citizenship in some parts of the country - stripping away a constitutional right for first-generation Americans who were born here and are rightfully US citizens.
But those resources are at risk. The Republican budget would put kids like Malakai at risk of losing the care they need to survive.
