Trump’s war on Iran is costing American taxpayers a BILLION dollars a day. In 3 months, Trump will have spent more on this than the cost of the extended ACA tax credits Republicans cut in December. They took away your healthcare to pay for their war.
Illinois was just ranked second out of all 50 states for #LEED-certified buildings! As a member of the top 10 states since 2010, our state has been a leader in sustainable, energy-efficient construction across industrial, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.
Happy International Women’s Day!! Today, we celebrate all the women who make our world a better place. Thank you for your work, your passion, your contributions.
By waiting till members left town after votes to finally adhere to a law passed two years ago, Johnson chose to avoid any proper tribute to our officers and their sacrifice. The dirty tricks have to stop.
Speaker Johnson finally installed the plaque commemorating the service of our Capitol Police during the January 6th attacks — at 4 am this morning.
Exclusive: A memorial plaque honoring law enforcement’s response to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot was quietly installed inside the U.S. Capitol early Saturday morning. The memorial was required by law to be installed by March 2023.
To stop animal cruelty, we need communication & collaboration between federal agencies. My bill with Rep. Malliotakis, Rep. Reschenthaler, and @davids.house.gov would require USDA & DOJ to work together. I am encouraged by DOJ's plan to increase coordination, and I hope they follow through.
March is also @americanredcross.bsky.social Month. This month, we honor the many volunteers, donors, and dedicated staff who support this lifesaving work. The Chicago Red Cross alone serves 7.6 MILLION people across 4 counties, proving that when we come together, we can make a real difference.
March is Women’s History Month. This month, we celebrate the generations of trailblazing Chicago women who have paved the way for progress and made both our country and our city stronger as a result.
I’m hosting an Immigration Forum TOMORROW at 10 am CT on the @loyolachicago.bsky.social campus. We'll be joined by legal advocates, immigration activists, and other local elected officials to talk about what we can do next if #ICE returns to our city. Register at the link here: buff.ly/6uHmUa5
Over 600,000 cats and dogs were euthanized in 2024 because their shelters didn’t have enough space. As a Co-Chair of the Animal Protection Caucus, I’m committed to making sure all of our furry friends find a loving home.
Yesterday, @ASPCA.org and I hosted Capitol Hill’s annual pet adoption day: “Paws for Luck.” Thank you to all the shelter employees, trainers, and volunteers who helped put on this event.
Trump has spent his entire second term cozying up to Putin, only for him to turn around and provide intelligence to Iran that puts American service members' lives directly in danger. This is what happens when a president is more interested in doing Putin's bidding than protecting U.S. interests.
This was incredibly overdue. I am thankful for everyone who against DHS' abuses under Noem's leadership and for my colleague @robinkelly.house.gov for leading the charge in her impeachment. I am cheered by Noem’s removal, but we can't lose sight of the task at hand. Read my full statement here.
Yesterday, I was honored to be recognized by the Humane World Action Fund as a Legislative Leader. As a Co-Chair of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus and a proud Dog Dad, I'm committed to passing bipartisan, commonsense legislation to protect our animals. @humaneworldorg.bsky.social
Unfortunately, resources are extremely limited—you may not receive a response from State right away. Please feel free to call my district office with any questions.
For those seeking assistance with evacuation, the State Department has begun rolling out assisted departure in Qatar, Israel, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. I am urging all of my constituents in these countries to fill out this form on the State Department website IMMEDIATELY. #Iran
I’m working at the federal level to bring back millions to Chicago and IL for more housing, and we need our local leaders to step up and remove barriers to build too!🏠️ 📸 photo credit: DTKindler Photography
I was honored to speak to #housing experts from across the state at the IL Affordable Housing Forum. My main message: We must build baby build our way out of our housing affordability crisis.
