105 years ago today, the 19th Amendment was ratified, enshrining in the Constitution women's right to vote.
Decades of activism proved that when women seek to change the world, they often succeed. Today, we carry on the fight for equality.
For years, Putin has targeted civilians and waged an illegal war against Ukraine. Trump's comments praising Putin and blaming Ukraine rewrite the facts and affirm a murderous dictator.
The US must stand firmly with Ukraine and make clear that we will never reward aggression.
The Small Business Administration is providing disaster assistance for businesses, homeowners, renters, and non-profit organizations affected by Chantal in NC, including in Wake County.
If that's you, check out their website.

It was a privilege celebrating India's Independence Day with the Indian community in the Triangle.
Thank you for inviting me and for strengthening our community.
With NIL reshaping college sports, we must make sure student athletes are paid what they deserve. All of them.
I led a group of lawmakers requesting information about how the NCAA will ensure women's sports receive their fair share of funds.

People told Trump and Republicans that this would happen when they began cutting funding at VA, but they assured us it wasn't true.
Now, veterans are facing longer wait times and worse care.

Republicans passed their Big Ugly Law, including massive cuts to Medicaid funding.
This isn't surprising news, but it shouldn't be happening. Families will hurt and hospitals will close because of this.

Social Security is a lifeline for so many seniors in North Carolina, especially women.
I visited seniors in Garner for a town hall to discuss how we can make sure we'll always have Social Security and Medicare.
Remember:
Republicans voted to kick 10 million people off Medicaid to pay for tax breaks for their billionaire donors.
They're exploding the debt to take away healthcare. That's bad governance and it's plain wrong.
Trump has spent his entire time in office weakening FEMA and our ability to respond to disasters.
With hurricane season ongoing, this decision endangers millions of Americans.

This new legislation would establish a clear line: In the US, we do not exile people for exercising their constitutional rights.
We thank @ross.house.gov and @balint.house.gov for introducing this bill and standing firm in safeguarding our right to free speech, dissent, and political expression.
The Trump admin keeps violating the free speech rights of immigrants in this country.
This can't go unchecked. @balint.house.gov and I introduced our Land of the Free Act to prevent Trump from deporting individuals whose speech he finds inconvenient.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office just confirmed that Republicans' Big Ugly Law makes life more expensive for families by giving massive tax breaks to billionaires.
Republicans are throwing working families under the bus for the wealthy.

Trump said he'd have inflation down immediately, but his reckless tariffs are keeping it high.
North Carolinians can't afford to live under Trump's economy.

The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 was once a rarely used provision. But now Marco Rubio uses it daily. It was his basis for going after Mahmoud Khalil, Rümeysa Öztürk, and others to suppress political speech.
So @ross.house.gov and I want to repeal it.

Energy costs are way too high, and these solar grants helped low-income families afford their energy.
We'll keep fighting to protect North Carolinians by pushing Trump to reverse this decision.

We're facing challenging times, but I'm committed to doing everything I can to make progress on the issues that affect North Carolina.
In other words: Trump's tariffs do the least harm to corporations and the wealthiest Americans.
Everyone else will feel the pain.

We'll keep fighting so that North Carolinians can have access to affordable clean energy.

North Carolinians are still feeling the effects of Chantal.
I met with state and local leaders to discuss how federal budget cuts could hurt disaster relief preparedness and how Congress must pass a relief package ASAP.
