HISTORIC MOVE: CHC Members are suing DHS—the first-ever lawsuit from Members of Congress against the Trump administration this Congress.
Why? Because obstruction of oversight, mass detention, and abuse of power cannot go unchecked.
Today I marked 60 years of Medicaid and Medicare by hearing stories about how the Big Ugly Law would gut these vital lifelines. At a roundtable with providers like DAP Health, Innercare, and St. John’s, we discussed their concerns.
This is not how we should be honoring Medicaid and Medicare.
I’m joining my colleagues in suing the Trump-Vance administration for obstructing congressional oversight at ICE detention centers, in violation of federal law.
When the President oversteps his authority – it's our duty to act, because no one is above the Constitution.
The Iranian regime’s brutal execution of Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani is a grave assault on human rights. The world is watching. We must stand with the people of Iran in their fight for freedom and hold this regime accountable.

Our veterans fought for us, it’s time we fight for them.
The bipartisan Major Richard Star Act would guarantee veterans with service-connected disabilities receive both full retirement pay and disability benefits. Let’s get it done.
Huge congratulations to the CHCI 2025 Congressional Interns and Fellows on your graduation! It was an honor to hear your stories and see the passion you’re bringing to public service.
I can't wait to see all you accomplish!
I had the opportunity to meet UC Riverside’s new chancellor, Dr. S. Jack Hu. Grateful for the conversation and inspired by our shared commitment to expanding opportunities for the next generation of student leaders in our communities.
I want to hear from you: Do you support the release of the Epstein Files?

#ICYMI: I joined Peter Daut and #KESQ to talk about just how devastating the Big Ugly Bill is for our communities in #CA25.
It makes me sick to my stomach because families will lose health care and food assistance, all while the national debt goes up to give billionaires more tax breaks.
🚨 Rural hospitals are a lifeline for communities in #CA25 and across the country. When one closes, it can mean the difference between life and death.
I raised the alarm while questioning one of HHS top rural health officials. Watch here ⬇️
ICE is illegally denying Members of Congress access to inspect their facilities.
They keep moving the goalpost. So we’re asking: What are they hiding from the American people?

🚨 What’s really going on inside the Adelanto ICE Facility?
I sat down with Kristen from Immigrant Defense Law Center to break down the conditions inside and what people need to know.
➡️ Hear our full conversation here.
➡️ Remember: Everyone, regardless of immigration status, has constitutional rights.
Hector from @ic4ij.bsky.social joined to break down the resources available to immigrant communities.
Know your rights. In times like these, information is power, don’t let fear silence you.
We showed up to do our job: Congressional oversight of the Adelanto ICE Facility, as required by federal law.
What did we find? A chain and a lock.
What will Secretary Kristi Noem find? A resignation letter. Watch until the end to read it.
🚨 WATCH: I was just ILLEGALLY DENIED entry into the Adelanto ICE Facility.
Under federal law, Members of Congress have the right to access any DHS facility used to detain immigrants.
This is a violation of oversight, accountability, & your right to transparency. Our communities deserve answers.
#ICYMI: I voted HELL NO on the Big Ugly Bill and I joined #SpectrumNews1SoCal to discuss the effects it will have on all of our communities.
We’re fighting back against the Big Ugly Bill.
Democrats have submitted over 400 amendments to call out just how dangerous this bill is.
Tune in to hear are a few of mine, because the fight’s not over. This is unacceptable.
