🎥 Watch my remarks from my press conference outside US Department of Health and Human Services, where I joined my colleagues to call on the Senate to reject his confirmation.

As an emergency physician, your health and safety is my priority. That’s why I led over a dozen colleagues outside of the US Health and Human Services Department to urge the Senate to reject RFK Jr.’s confirmation. We can do better.
RFK Jr.’s false anti-vaccine beliefs creates doubt in our most effective public health interventions, which puts millions of lives at risk and harms our communities.
🚨 At 5 PM ET, join me and a dozen Members of Congress as we call on the Senate to reject Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s nomination for Secretary of Health and Human Services.

We need a bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform law that secures our borders, stabilizes our workforce, improves the economy, lowers costs, and creates a fair pathway to citizenship starting with dreamers and farm workers. (6/6)
To make matters worse, police will have a harder time getting residents to report crimes. (5/6)
Grocery prices will increase, housing construction will be delayed, hospitals and nursing homes will have fewer people to take care of patients, and hotels and restaurants will have fewer employees to serve customers. Everyone will be impacted. (4/6)
Without immigrant workers, the agriculture, construction, hotel, restaurant and healthcare industries will all suffer, as will the people they serve. (3/6)
Immigrants are not going to work, school, or church out of fear of being separated from their families...and that harms all of us. Mass deportations would make things even worse. (2/6)
I recently met with local faith leaders, school officials, farm worker representatives, and immigration law experts. It was very upsetting to hear about the fear that Trump’s draconian, indiscriminate and cruel mass deportation program is having on our local communities. (1/6)
In fact, some estimate that American families would pay an additional $1,200 a year with the current tariff plans on Canada and Mexico alone! It’s like a $1,200 Trump tax.
That’s why I wrote a letter to President Trump urging him to stop these reckless policies that will raise costs.
We need to work on lowering costs for American families not raise them!
Almost all economists have warned that indiscriminately raising tariffs on our key economic neighbors will RAISE COSTS for middle class families already struggling with inflation.
This week, I attended #CelebrateChuckwalla, hosted by Protect CA Deserts - alongside conservationists, tribal nations, renewable energy leaders, business owners, and key partners.
Thank you to all the supporters that were an integral part of getting #ChuckwallaNationalMonument designated!
That’s why I’ve taken action, sending letters to President Trump and his Administration and advocating for legislation that limits his ability to hurt our communities.
This is just the beginning, more to come. Stay tuned.
I’m fighting back against Trump’s Project 2025 executive orders, which have already hurt local community health centers and Head Start programs.
Many of you have shared concerns about Trump’s extreme Project 2025 and its freeze on federal funding for our communities.
I’m breaking down how these unconstitutional attacks threaten health care, education, and jobs.

The crash at Reagan National Airport in D.C. is heartbreaking. My heart goes out to the families of victims. Thank you to the first responders, especially those that performed search and rescue in the freezing water in the dark.

Happy Friday! There’s nothing better than starting the day with a sip from my #CoachellaValleyCoffee cup while working hard for the incredible people of our district.
It’s my little way of bringing a taste of our desert to Washington, DC! 🌵
