Federal law still allows children to work long hours in dangerous farm conditions, protections far weaker than in any other industry. Children in farmworker communities deserve the same safety standards as every other child.
Our public health institutions, including the CDC, must be guided by science, not misinformation or anti-vaccine rhetoric that makes false claims and goes against decades of research.
These changes to the CDC website put lives at risk and undermine public trust.
During #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth, I’m committed to honoring tribal nations by protecting their history and their right to govern themselves.
Watch for my committee remarks to learn more.
Trump’s flip-flop on the Epstein files was a desperate last-minute attempt to save face and distract from the fact that he was about to lose the vote.
I voted YES to release all of the files so we can finally bring the truth to light and deliver long-overdue justice for the victims of these crimes.
Last week, I celebrated the service and sacrifice of Veterans across California’s 25th District. It was an honor to recognize them and their families for all they have given to our nation.
Catching up with some good friends who’ve served our nation and continue to give back to our veteran community! The DAV Coachella Valley Chapter works hard to help veterans and their families get the benefits they’ve earned. I’m grateful to work alongside advocates like them.
Walking in the rain during the City of Holtville Veterans Day Parade, being with the people of Holtville, and honoring our local veterans and their families made for an amazing day! It was an honor to spend the day with you.
Thank you to Helen, Karen, and all the members of Holtville’s Bradley Keffer American Legion Auxiliary 138 for hosting the incredible veterans appreciation breakfast. I was honored to spend time with so many wonderful veterans and their families.
Today, I met with leaders from the veteran community across California’s 25th District to hear their priorities and learn more about the issues they’re facing. It’s always good to connect with friends to talked about their passion for supporting our veterans.
In our communities, families face some of the highest temperatures in the country. Without this help, many are forced to choose between staying cool and meeting basic needs.
That’s why I led a letter with @trahan.house.gov urging the Trump Admin to release all available LIHEAP funds immediately.
Providing reliable Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding, which helps families afford cooling and heating, isn’t about politics. It’s about keeping people safe.
I visited Renova Energy to highlight the importance of renewable energy and the jobs it is creating right here in the Coachella Valley!
Clean energy in our region strengthens our local economy and promotes a climate-friendly environment for us to live in. @renovaenergia.bsky.social
That’s why I’m voting no, and I’ll keep fighting to protect health care and lower costs for working people.
While the funding bill offers some relief for those hurt by the shutdown, it will also drive-up costs for millions of families by as much as $18,000 a year because it intentionally leaves out extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits.
From the very start of the shutdown, I have fought to reopen the government, protect health care, and lower costs for working people.
I walked alongside veterans and their families at the City of Palm Springs’s Annual Veterans Day Parade! It’s always great to be out in the community to celebrate those who have served. It is my honor to serve you. Happy Veterans’ Day!
Today, I celebrated all veterans and their families for their service. I attended the Coachella Valley Cemetery District’s Annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony to honor veterans present and past. Let’s give our veterans our utmost gratefulness and respect for their sacrifice and service.
It is my honor and privilege to present medals to Juan Carlos Lopez-Mendoza, who served in the U.S. Army, 1990-1993 and Glenn King, who served in the U.S. Navy, 1962-1968. These heroes served and sacrificed for our nation. Thank you for your service and commitment to the values of our country.
I’ve been working to open the government, protect healthcare, & keep ACA tax credits in place so our communities aren’t slammed with health care costs that could climb by up to $18,000 a year.
That is why I recently hosted a virtual resource fair to connect people with immediate support.
