The FY25 NDAA includes pay raises for servicemembers along with provisions focused on health care, housing, childcare, military spousal support, and civilian workforce benefits. It also provides support for shipbuilding and includes investments strengthen research at HBCUs.
Waterways in Hampton Roads support economic opportunities for Virginia. As we grapple w/ sea level rise & more frequent flooding, we must find innovative ways to protect our communities. Passing the Water Resources Development Act today supports that work by investing in water infrastructure.
This morning, I presented an entry I made in the Congressional Record to the family of Mr. David Walker. Mr. Walker attended I.C. Norcom High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1940. Tragically, he was killed defending our nation during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I met with representatives from the Virginia Health System on the importance of continued funding for community health centers.
Our local community health centers provide critical services and ensure everyone in our communities have access to care.
Joined Senator Raphael Warnock, Representatives Emanuel Cleaver and Al Green, as well as Congressional staff who are members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity to mark Founders' Day.
Republicans are focused on culture wars in schools.
Democrats will remain focused on how to support students and teachers.
Congress does not - and should not - dictate school curriculum.
So while Republicans waste their time stoking culture wars in schools, Committee Democrats are going to focus issues that *actually* impact students, teachers, and families. WATCH⤵️
