I want to take a moment today to honor our veterans. These brave men and women have made extraordinary sacrifices for our nation, and we owe them an enormous debt of gratitude. 🇺🇸 #HonorOurVeterans
The Voting Rights Act was signed into law exactly 60 years ago. But today, it is on life support after being gutted by the Supreme Court and far-right judges. It’s time for Congress to restore its full protections by passing the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. 🗳️
Great news! The Delta Regional Authority is investing $3 million to improve water infrastructure in Perry County and the Town of Carrollton! I will continue fighting to bring federal dollars to the Black Belt to address our water and sewer needs.
I’m so grateful to my awesome district interns who spent #NationalInternDay volunteering at our job fair in Tuscaloosa! Thanks for everything you did to make today’s event so successful!
Medicare and Medicaid have helped millions of seniors and families see a doctor, purchase their medications, and afford lifesaving care. But 60 years after their creation, Republicans are working to gut these essential programs in order to pad the pockets of the wealthy. It’s unconscionable.
Praying for the victims of the horrific mass shooting in NYC. We mourn the loss of those senselessly killed and commend the first responders for their swift action. We cannot allow gun violence to continue tearing our communities apart. Congress must act to break the cycle of violence.
Four people were killed, including a police officer, after a gunman opened fire in a Midtown Manhattan office building. The shooter is also dead, officials said. Follow live updates.
Exciting day in McCalla where we marked the official opening of the new Legacy Credit Union branch! Great to celebrate this new investment alongside so many community leaders!
After ripping away health care from millions, Republicans are running scared from their own voters. Their latest plot to redraw the Texas congressional map is a blatant power grab meant to silence the voices of Americans and rig the game in their favor. Let’s call it what it is—VOTER SUPPRESSION!
NEWS: I’m cosponsoring an amendment to the Constitution that would reverse the Supreme Court’s egregious decision to make the president immune from criminal prosecution. Because in America, we are not ruled by a king!
