Big congrats to Phoenix's own Carty Shoen and his Auburn University teammate on winning the 2026 National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship. Well done! 🎣

The mother and son arrived in San Antonio this afternoon. Our children should be at school and with their family and friends. Not locked away at the Dilley trailer prison. Thank you @repgregstanton.bsky.social for seeing the conditions at Dilley firsthand and fighting against this cruelty.
This family should be home tonight, celebrating their son's 8th grade promotion, not in federal detention hundreds of miles away.
I just returned from a visit to Dilley yesterday, where I met with families in similar circumstances.
What I saw there was heartbreaking, and this case reflects the same outrageous, misguided priorities under Trump's mass deportation agenda.
My office is aware that a Tempe parent and student were detained by ICE and are currently being transported to the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in Texas.
We are in contact with school and local officials, and my team is working urgently to reach the family.

I'm fighting to end Trump's illegal tariffs and pass the @newdems.bsky.social's Affordability Agenda to bring costs down across the board.

Trump has lost the plot on the economy. Families are skipping meals & taking on second jobs to afford groceries, & Trump’s illegal tariffs are raising prices even higher.
Now, his top priorities are designing a billion-dollar ballroom & paying off J6 insurrectionists with a $1.8 billion slush fund.

From New Jersey to Texas, ICE is brutalizing innocent people who have committed no crime. These facilities—prisons—have become black boxes where people are denied basic necessities like adequate food, water, and healthcare.

Was in Dilley, TX today with @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social & @repgregstanton.bsky.social for another oversight visit of the ICE detention center. Unlike last time, they made it difficult for immigrants to meet w/ us & we could only meet with TWO FAMILIES. What are they trying to hide & keep from us?
The American people are right to be angry, and we’re going to keep showing up and fighting back.
What I saw at Dilley today is exactly why Trump's approval on immigration is cratering.
This is what mass deportation looks like. Mothers separated from their American kids. Business owners imprisoned for months. People in deportation limbo after decades with no criminal record.
Many of the parents we met with have been in America for decades, have no criminal record, and have children who are American citizens.
We met with business owners, nonprofit founders, and family caregivers.
It serves no purpose to the United States to break up these families.
On the way back from Dilley detention center,
@joaquincastrotx.bsky.social, @repbarragan.bsky.social. & I spoke with @nickvalencianews.bsky.social to discuss our oversight visit.
Eid Mubarak!
On Eid al-Adha, families gather to honor faith, sacrifice, and gratitude. I hope this holy day brings you peace and joy.
I just conducted congressional oversight of the Dilley detention center outside San Antonio—the only family detention facility in the country.
@joaquincastrotx.bsky.social, @repbarragan.bsky.social, & I spoke to the children, parents, & spouses being swept up into Trump's mass deportation machine.
Grateful to meet with President Karen Hardin and Maricopa County NAACP leaders about the work ahead to protect and expand voting rights.
As the Supreme Court rolls back generations of progress, I’ll keep listening to civil rights leaders and working in Congress to restore the Voting Rights Act.

Airport staffing shortages can cause serious delays for travelers.
I fought to create a bipartisan program to shift more Air Traffic Control from being contract work to FAA-run, and Mesa Gateway will be one of first to transition.
This is a win for travelers and workers alike.
On this Memorial Day, we honor the servicemembers who lost their lives serving our country. Their sacrifice defending our freedoms will never be forgotten. And to their families, we are forever in your debt.
