Eric Sorensen

Eric Sorensen is an American politician and meteorologist serving as the U.S. representative for Illinois's 17th congressional district since 2023. His district covers a large swath of western and central Illinois, centered around Moline, Rock Island, and the Illinois side of the Quad Cities. It also includes parts of Peoria and Rockford. A member of the Democratic Party, Sorensen is the first openly gay member of Congress from Illinois.

Saturday morning between 8am and noon, there’s a threat of a glaze of ice. (It will be worse the farther west you go, especially over the Mississippi River.) But with such cold air the past few days, it may take a while for it to melt once it’s frozen. Please be very careful!

Rita Crundwell was just granted clemency. This, after swindling Dixon, IL residents out of $54 Million over decades. She pleaded guilty, got the max sentence, but only served 8 yrs. Her case remains the biggest municipal fraud case in U.S. history. Getting off scot free today is such a load of BS.
