Yesterday at the Shriver Job Corps Center in Devens, Congresswoman Jim McGovern and I stood shoulder to shoulder with students, instructors, union leaders and local employers to say: we’re not backing down. We’re standing up and fighting back to protect a program that works.
The Job Corps Program is a proven ladder to success for young people nationwide, equipping them with the support they need to build strong careers and bright futures. The Trump Administration’s reckless attempt to dismantle it will only hurt hardworking families across the Commonwealth.

On this day 260 years ago, news of emancipation reached the last enslaved Americans in Galveston, Texas – over two years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation – finally ending slavery in America.
Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a powerful reminder that freedom in America has never been handed down, but rather hard-won through the courage and struggle of those who dared to demand it.
I toured their Emergency Department today and saw firsthand the skilled, lifesaving care their nurses and doctors deliver day in and day out. We should be investing in our hospitals – not cutting them.
For over a decade, Project LEARN has been a tireless champion for Lowell’s youth – equipping them with the education, skills and support to help them reach their full potential. I’m proud to support their efforts to help our students turn tremendous promise into opportunity.

When a young man or woman signs up to defend our nation, they don’t choose who to protect based on political party. They protect every American. It’s shameful that veterans could now be denied care simply because of who they vote for.
In today's Democratic Daily Download, @repstaceyplaskett.bsky.social shares the rich contributions of Caribbean Americans to our nation's fabric and discusses the importance of celebrating our diverse cultures, traditions, and achievements during Caribbean American Heritage Month.
Donald Trump's Big Ugly Bill is going to decimate health care for Americans, including women simply trying to start a family or safely give birth. We should be expanding access to care, not ripping it away.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads who lead with love, strength, and kindness. Today we celebrate the countless ways you show up, support, and shape the lives of those around you. Thank you for everything you do!
This is a shocking act terrorism — targeted violence meant to silence, intimidate and instill fear in our communities. It must be condemned unequivocally, by leaders of all political stripes. Democracy depends on it.
I’m horrified by the political assassination of Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, and attempted murder of Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette in Minnesota.
BREAKING: A Minnesota lawmaker is dead in a "politically motivated assassination," Gov. Tim Walz says, and another was shot and injured. The suspect is at large.
