In today's Democratic Daily Download, Rep John Larson calls out Trump-Musk's attacks on Social Security. They're coming after your earned benefits. Today, we'll hear directly from Americans who are impacted by these cuts. We're fighting for families and seniors, not billionaires!
Republicans are forcing a vote this week on the “SAVE Act”, a messaging bill with dangerous consequences: Stripping 69 million American women of their right to vote – just because their name changed when they got married.
This is completely unacceptable. The courts found that DOGE staffers were granted access to Social Security’s administrative system — a trove of our most private data — BEFORE their background checks were completed. It’s time to update our privacy laws to stop this from ever happening again.
When folks need lifesaving ultrasound services but can’t reach a hospital, they’re often left without any options. I reintroduced the bipartisan PURE Act to eliminate that gap by enabling portable ultrasounds to reach patients directly at their bedsides.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @meeks.house.gov explains why the Signal chat was a threat to our national security, why Hegseth must resign and how Dems are forcing a vote to compel the Trump Administration into releasing all details surrounding the disclosure of classified info.
I joined dozens of my colleagues in demanding answers about the arrest and detention of Rumesya Ozturk. The right to free speech is the bedrock of our nation. We cannot allow it to be eroded.

As America faces ongoing measles outbreaks and the rapid spread of bird flu, firing the health officials who respond to disease outbreaks is the LAST thing that we should be doing. These senseless layoffs will make America less safe and less healthy.
These cuts don’t just take food off the table – they undermine the tireless work of food banks, which are often the last line of defense against hunger. No child in America should have to go to bed hungry or skip lunch at school so Republicans’ billionaire donors can get another tax cut.
Watching them together was a reminder of what it means to stand by someone in every joy and every challenge. My heart is with Governor Dukakis and their entire family as they mourn this tremendous loss.
Kitty and Mike shared a love that was deep, genuine, and enduring—a love that, even on her last day, was as strong as it was when they married 62 years ago. Their partnership was one of true devotion, rooted in an unshakable commitment to each other and to the values they held dear.
Since seeking public office, I was fortunate to spend time with Kitty and Governor Dukakis, often in the warmth of their home, where they welcomed me with the same generosity and grace they extended to so many.
I’ve spent the past few days reflecting on the incredible life Kitty Dukakis. I’m heartbroken by the loss of such a remarkable woman whose kindness, strength and unwavering spirit touched so many lives – including mine.

The American people deserve a government that defends their freedoms, not one that tramples on them. ICE must immediately provide an update on Rumesya Ozturk's whereabouts, the justification for her detention, and the legal authority under which she was arrested.
