Wadee Alfayoumi brought so much joy and light to our community and he deserved to live a full & happy life. Instead, he was killed in a brutal attack driven by bigotry and bias.
Hate has no place in Illinois or our country & I’m honored to introduce this resolution that honors his life and memory.
Not on our watch.
Deeply honored to be a part of this extraordinary day and so proud of our community! We unveiled a historic marker at Yorkville’s Chapel on the Green to honor the bravery and courage of freedom seekers and those who provided them refuge on the Underground Railroad in Illinois.
This August I hosted a town hall in every county in our community to share updates on my work in Washington. Thank you to everyone who came, asked questions, and said hi!
House Republicans voted to kick 15 million Americans off of their health care and increase costs for millions more to pay for a tax break for billionaires.
Joined my friends at the Illinois Farm Bureau at the Will County Fair to talk about the issues important to our farmers in our northern Illinois community.
Slash YOUR Social Security to make themselves richer. Fire veterans and those who serve them at the VA to make themselves richer. None of this is about “waste, fraud, and abuse” like Republicans are claiming.

Nothing beats a county fair during a Midwestern summer.
Despite Trump’s promise to bring down the cost of living, the American dream feels more out of reach than ever. You deserve a government that works for you and that’s what @housedemocrats.bsky.social and I are fighting for.
At every one of our town halls, I close with good news and wins to share with our community:
In tough times, what do we do?
We come together, we protect one another, especially the most vulnerable in our communities. That is what we are doing in Illinois right now.
At my town hall in Aurora, a constituent asked me what gives me hope for a better tomorrow:
Thrilled to have secured $3 million in Community Project Funding to help the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry and Clothes Closet build out their new, permanent home.

Our office is fully open and here to help with any questions or disruption caused by the shutdown.
For questions about how a government shutdown impacts you, information on mental health resources, or help with a federal agency visit underwood.house.gov or call 630-549-2190.
🚫👑 proud to stand united and be in community with so many of our neighbors speaking up for our democracy. #nokings
Health care prices are out of control. But instead of working with Democrats to lower costs, Republicans want to raise them even higher. Americans cannot afford this Republican agenda.
There’s still time to join me and make your voice heard!
RSVP here to join tonight in Aurora: bit.ly/communityfor...
This week, I’m kicking off a series of Protect Our Rights events across our community to share resources and hear your experiences and concerns with ICE and DHS under the Trump Administration.
The first stop is in Aurora this Friday, October 10th. RSVP here: bit.ly/communityfor...
Donald Trump and Republicans slashed health care – and now American families are paying the price. Hospitals are closing and premiums are doubling. I’m fighting to cancel the cuts and lower the cost of your care.
