Great Opening Day ceremonies in Providence’s Fox Point/East Side and Pawtucket’s Darlington Little Leagues! To all the sluggers on diamonds across #RI01, have fun, be nice, and play ball! ⚾️
For over 40 years, AIDS Project RI has led with compassion in its advocacy and activism. At today’s Run/Walk for Life, community members came together to remember both loss and progress — while reaffirming the need to protect federal funding for HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs.
🚨As Ranking Members on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, we've obtained new information that reveals how recent firing decisions came from outside NOAA's leadership. We won't sit by as Trump allows unqualified, unauthorized, and undisclosed outsiders to dismantle the agency.
There are going to be a lot of Americans* who don’t like this one. It’s a new level of cruel to leave families without heat in the winter. I sincerely hope my Republican colleagues join me in protecting this funding from being eliminated.
Alongside @repfletcher.bsky.social & @quigley.house.gov, I’m demanding that HHS protect the ability for the American people to weigh in on proposed rules. We need transparency to make sure that officials at public health agencies are acting in the public’s interest. www.statnews.com/2025/05/01/r...
Over 100 days in and we’ve yet to see any effort from Trump to lower the cost of living for hardworking American families. In fact, we’ve only seen prices go up. @housedemocrats.bsky.social and @democrats.senate.gov are united against Trump’s reckless trade war and his disastrous policies.
Important conversation with Saronic and 8VC today at the Hill and Valley Forum on how the United States can strengthen our maritime power. ⚓️ In Rhode Island and across our nation, I’m pushing for investments in domestic shipbuilding while growing our innovation economy.
At least he’s not hiding how he’s hurting kids anymore 🤷🏿‍♂️
Trump on China: "They made a trillion dollars with Biden selling us stuff. Much of it we don't need. Somebody said, 'oh, the shelves are gonna be open.' Well, maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls, and maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks more."
Republicans on @houseforeign.bsky.social want to rubber stamp Trump & Rubio’s half-baked plan. It would eliminate funding to disrupt human trafficking, prevent terrorism, and support human rights — hurting America’s standing around the world & making us less safe.
Thank you @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social for sounding the alarm over the past 100 days. Through building an affordable economy, protecting Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid, and ending this administration’s corruption, @housedemocrats.bsky.social remain focused on supporting everyday Americans.
Jeffries: Trump and his sycophants spent yesterday bragging about the speed with which they’ve moved during these first 100 days. They’re right. Never has a president failed so quickly as Donald Trump
In the 100 days since Trump assumed office, grocery store prices are at record highs: 🍳Eggs — $6.23 a dozen 🥩Beef — $5.79 per pound ☕️Coffee — $7.39 per pound Trump’s unhinged tariff plan is jacking up costs for Americans and driving our economy into a ditch.
US GDP contracted for the first time in years in the first quarter as consumers and businesses fret about President Trump's massive new tariffs
Shared my gratitude for the USO & assembled care packages for troops stationed overseas. Support for our servicemembers and military families, it should be country over party — always.
Congrats to Val Lawson on becoming the new President of the Rhode Island Senate!  I look forward to our continued state-federal collaboration on behalf of all Rhode Islanders.
At a time when our work to combat rising anti-semitism should transcend political differences, this is yet another example of Trump’s politics of retribution. Thank you for your continued service, @davidcicilline.bsky.social.
NEW: The Trump administration today removed former RI Congressman @davidcicilline.bsky.social from the US Holocaust Memorial Council, along with a group of other Biden appointees that also includes Doug Emhoff
As Trump mercilessly attacks our LGBTQI+ neighbors and denies them basic civil rights, I’m advocating for the #EqualityAct with my colleagues in @equality.house.gov. Every American deserves to be themselves and live their life without fear and discrimination.
As Vice RM of @houseforeign.bsky.social, I’ve made Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Foods a top priority. Produced by @edesianutrition.bsky.social for starving kids abroad, it’s an example of America at its best. I’ll continue to lead bipartisan efforts to spare this vital work from Trump’s cuts to USAID.
On this 100th day, all we’ve seen from Trump is chaos — higher costs for everyday Americans and lasting damage to our federal institutions. Right now, Americans deserve committed action to address families’ economic challenges — not an agenda to enrich billionaires.
