Let me be clear: Anyone born on American soil is an American citizen. While this effort still faces significant judicial hurdles before it can be fully implemented, it is a clear ideological attack from an administration determined to erode our democracy.
Their reckless decision to limit nationwide injunctions weakens the power of federal courts to protect our communities and clears a path for Trump’s unconstitutional assault on birthright citizenship.
The right-wing majority on the Supreme Court is delivering a win for Trump’s extreme, partisan agenda at the expense of our constitutional rights.
This decision is cruel. It’s calculated. And I will not stand by as this administration and Republicans in Congress aim to erode access to comprehensive reproductive health care and undermine women’s fundamental rights.
Women are already facing life-threatening consequences from the Dobbs decision and from the Trump administration’s rollback of emergency abortion care protections. Now, the Trump-stacked Court is pushing lifesaving care even further out of reach.
