No one should be comfortable with the man we saw raving last night leading us into war in the Middle East. I was among the first to sign onto @khanna.house.gov & Rep. Thomas Massie's war powers resolution to block a war with Iran, and I look forward to voting for it. No war with Iran.
Rubin: "There is at least one witness for whom 3 interviews with the FBI in in 2019 are missing [from the Epstein files]. What's the big deal? We can also confirm she is the same person who in a 2025 FBI presentation is identified as accusing Trump of a sexual assault when she was between 13 and 15"
NEW: Ahead of SOTU, 45 New Dems, led by Trade & Tariffs Task Force Chair @beyer.house.gov and @repdelbene.bsky.social demanded immediate answers from the Trump administration on its plans to refund the $175 billion in illegal tariffs that raised costs for working Americans.
EXCLUSIVE: An @npr.org investigation finds the public database of Epstein files is missing dozens of pages related to sexual abuse accusations against President Trump. Other documents that mention Trump have been taken down (and some restored). More:
My heart goes out to the family members who were just put through new anguish entirely unnecessarily, and they will have my support as we work to fix this. We cannot and will not let this disgusting failure be the final word – the families deserve better, and the country deserves better.
Instead they waited until families flew in to honor their loved ones to break their hearts as they looked on today from the House Gallery. Johnson engineered this defeat, voted against the bill, and closed the vote as Members were still voting – needlessly underhanded and disgraceful behavior.
Mike Johnson and his leadership team should be ashamed of the way they treated the families of the victims of last year's tragic air collision. The ROTOR Act passed unanimously in the Senate, the DOD and Speaker Johnson had lots of time to raise issues constructively.
I support the strength and urgency of the calls for ADS-B implementation in the ROTOR Act, which the National Transportation Safety Board has been clear could have given the pilots on the night of the tragic DCA collision a greater chance to avoid the collision. I will be voting YES.
He's flouting laws Congress passed and violating the Constitution, and frankly, his speeches to Congress are boring and full of lies. I'll spend my time that evening meeting with constituents in Northern Virginia instead.
During my telephone town hall last week, I let constituents know that I will not be attending tomorrow's State of the Union. I believe in the tradition of the joint address and I respect the presidency, but this president simply does not show any respect to Congress or the people who sent us here.
My parents and my sister are buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Trump's latest vanity boondoggle would tower over this sacred national space, and cause major disruptions for my Northern Virginia constituents. This monstrosity is plainly illegal under current law.
New: Military veterans sue Trump over his planned 250-ft arch, saying it will damage views from Arlington National Cemetery. They want to halt the project until it gets congressional approval and meets other requirements.
