Many officers were injured that day — some even died. While Trump has pardoned the attackers and Republicans turn a blind eye to what happened, we stand with the American people to remember the heroic actions of our law enforcement officers and demand accountability for ALL of those involved.

It’s been 5 years since the January 6th attack on the Capitol. On that day, Donald Trump incited rioters to storm the Capitol to stop the legitimate transfer of power. Today, @housedemocrats.bsky.social and @democrats.senate.gov remember the brave officers who protected our democracy.
We need Republicans to join us and vote to extend these tax credits — it’s a vote to help save lives and make health care more affordable.
Congress is back in session THIS WEEK so @housedemocrats.bsky.social forced a vote to restore the tax credits that will help lower health care costs for millions of Americans.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social fought to get a vote THIS WEEK to restore the enhanced tax credits for 3 years — we only need a handful of Republicans to vote with us to lower costs for millions of Americans.
Families across the US are now forced to risk going without health care or paying thousands of dollars more just to afford coverage— all because Republicans let the tax credits expire that help keep health care premiums down.
My statement regarding the Trump Administration’s military actions in Venezuela:
Happy new year! As we ring in 2026, may the new year bring us joy, change, and the strength to work together to make our community a better place.
Congratulations to the City of #Carson on receiving the highest award from the South Bay Energy and Climate Recognition Program for their dedication to expand access to EV charging and other sustainability initiatives across the city!

Dr. Parham has inspired & empowered generations of students, and helped to make California State University, Dominguez Hills, a launching pad for students’ dreams. Thank you, Dr. Parham, for all that you have done for our students, & wishing you the best of luck in this next chapter of your journey.
It was a privilege to honor Dr. Thomas A. Parham, President of California State University, Dominguez Hills, on the House Floor, as he retires after an extraordinary career in higher education.

Unlike CBS News, Frontline PBS ran their report recently on stories from some of the migrants sent to the notorious CECOT prison in El Salvador. Trump & his enablers can’t erase the truth about what happened. Watch the PBS piece.

Our Croatian communities helped to build San Pedro into the thriving town it is today, and I am proud to be able to represent them and help promote bilateral cultural cooperation between the US and Croatia. Can’t wait to have Croatia House in San Pedro for the LA’28 Olympics!
Delighted to have celebrated Komiska Noc earlier this month with our Croatian American Club in #SanPedro and Renee Pea, the Consul General of Croatia in #LA! We celebrated nearly 40 US citizens as they took their oath for dual citizenship.
The money for Trump’s “Warrior Dividends” has already been approved by Congress for troops so they can afford housing and basic living expenses.
Trump is NOT rewarding our service members with new bonuses, he’s just renaming funds that troops were already going to receive to score political points.
