As costs go up, food banks like the LA Food Bank are serving more families than ever.
Spoke with CEO Michael Flood on how families depend on food banks as they try to cover other needs like rent. @housedemocrats.bsky.social will continue to fight to fund food assistance for Americans.

¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Hoy, celebramos la orgullosa cultura mexicana y la inmensa contribución de las comunidades Mexico-americanas que continúan dando forma a nuestro país todos los días.
¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Today, we celebrate the proud heritage, strength, and contributions of our Mexican American communities who continue to shape our country everyday.
Our country was built on the backs of workers and laborers.
So today, we celebrate them and continue to fight for the rights and protections of American workers who help make the U.S. what it is.
Happy #InternationalWorkersDay!
Trump, Stephen Miller, and this Admin continue to reach new lows. He shot and killed an unarmed woman in broad daylight — he should be under investigation for murder, not back on the job.
Did you know that there might be chemicals in baby food and toddler food that could be linked to cancer?
We need to bring back the FDA staff Trump cut that conduct oversight over these harmful chemicals.
Parents are not chemists.
SCOTUS continues to roll back voting rights protections for Black and Hispanic voters in America. Red State Republicans have already proven they’ll do everything they can to reduce representation for these communities.
This is wrong. We won’t stop though. We’ll continue to fight for representation.
King Charles III was subtle but his message was clear:
•Check the power of the executive branch 👀
•Recognize the importance of NATO
•Realize that the world takes note of the U.S.’ words and actions
Hope Trump and Republicans were taking notes.
Political violence is not the answer. Never.
Spoke to Whit Johnson about my experience at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
No one should have to duck under tables to avoid a shooter, not at the WHCD, or in our schools.
Political violence is never, EVER the answer. It must end.
At White House Correspondents Dinner as guest of C-SPAN and it’s absolute chaos. Heard the shots and had to get under our table.
Grateful for the immediate response from the USSS and security as they worked to apprehend the shooter and secure the area.
The Trump admin invested in a lithium mine to boost U.S. supply of the critical mineral… and gutted electric vehicle incentives that drive demand for lithium, at the same time.
Just another example of how the Trump admin got in its own way AND the people’s access to clean, affordable energy.
That’s unacceptable and we will fight to stop these Republican cuts.
WIC helps new moms and their young children afford nutritious foods like fresh produce.
Republicans’ farm bill cuts access to WIC for 800,000+ Californians. This means less access to healthy food when families already can’t afford the basics.

NEWSFLASH for Trump and Republicans: Forcing working families to pay hundreds of dollars more for food is the opposite of your Day 1 promise to lower costs.

Happy Earth Day! Here’s to another year of working with you all to fight for clean air, clean water, and a healthier community in #CA44.
RFK says he agrees women should have access to birth control pills… then why is he trying to eliminate Title X funding that helps women get birth control pills?
You can’t have it both ways, Mr. Secretary.
This is an example of why @housedemocrats.bsky.social will continue to fight the Trump Admin’s cuts that take billions of dollars away from California to help our communities breathe cleaner air, lower energy costs, and live healthier lives.
Celebrated Earth Day early with the Port of LA and community partners at the Wilmington Waterfront Promenade! A former polluted, fenced-off lot is now a vibrant park space for families.
Past midnight at the Capitol where Republicans have us voting in the dark of night on a bill they know Americans won’t like, AGAIN.
Section 702 of FISA allows the Trump admin to check some of our emails & texts with foreign nationals. Your privacy is a right & I’m going in to vote no on this bill.
