4 days after illegally starting a war with Iran, there are still thousands of Americans stranded in a war zone and the Trump regime still does not have a concrete plan to bring them back. These are the consequences to his chaotic military adventurism and his reckless cuts to the federal workforce.
[2/2] My remarks prior to the vote on the War Powers Resolution on the urgent need for Congress to restrain this wannabe king of the universe. Though narrowly defeated 212-219, I will keep working to stop this disastrous war.
[1/2] Ruling by decree, Trump dragged us into a reckless war and cruelly dismissed American deaths as “that’s the way it is.” With no clear plan or commitment to keep ground troops out, more deaths and billions of taxpayer dollars will be “the way it is.”
Our “acting president of Venezuela” now says “I have to be involved” in selecting the new leader of Iran. Hegseth, who has denied that the goal of the war is regime change, may want to get in touch with his own Supreme Leader so that they can keep their lies straight.
Good discussion with credit union representatives from the Austin/San Antonio area about their vital work they opening opportunities for families, small businesses, and local communities. #GAC2026
[2/2] ... Trump is instead depleting critical supplies for his reckless war of choice with Iran that has already led to the deaths of U.S. servicemembers and over 1,000 civilians.
[1/2] Our air defenses and interceptors could have been distributed to Ukraine to stop a war criminal already responsible for over 100,000 deaths. Turning a blind eye to his pal Putin’s state-sponsored terrorism against the Ukrainian people...
Trump and his regime just cannot keep their lies straight. While I deplore the Iranian regime, there was absolutely no imminent threat to justify this illegal war. Congress must adopt the War Powers Resolution and put a stop to the loss of lives.
Trump on June 21, 2025: “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated” Trump on March 3, 2026: “"If we didn't hit within 2 weeks, they would've had a nuclear weapon”
Trump: "If we didn't hit within 2 weeks, they would've had a nuclear weapon. When crazy people have nuclear weapons bad things happen."
[2/2] With war so much easier to get into than get out of, it is imperative that Congress act swiftly to approve the War Powers Resolution to restrain our trigger-happy president, stop another destabilizing, bloody conflict, and save innocent lives.
[3/3]...and refusing to turn on neighbors who share neither the gunman’s violence nor his ideology. The gunman sought to make a statement along a sidewalk still marked with crime scene tape. But as a city, we decide what defines us. Let it be unity over hatred.”
[2/3] Now we must heed this powerful message from the Austin American Statesman: “If the spray of gunfire on West Sixth Street was meant to sow fear and division, Austin’s answer must be steadiness and solidarity — mourning the dead, supporting the wounded...
With so many urgent challenges facing our country, today is the day to make your voice heard. It is not enough to just express rage, make sure it is heard at the ballot box. The big choices that will impact our lives are being made now in this Primary election. Find your polling location here 👇
At a Medal of Honor ceremony, Trump surrounded himself with military heroes who have shown the courage that he never shows. Instead of a clear explanation of his objectives for the illegal war which he has declared against Iran, Trump mumbled on about the WH drapes and his massive new ballroom.
[2/2] As @bgrumet.bsky.social l powerfully noted in the Austin American Statesman, “protest provides an antidote to apathy and affirmation that you are not alone. None of RFK Jr.’s policies changed Friday. But a South Austin community felt a little stronger, a little healthier.”
In Austin and much of gerrymandered Texas, today will determine who will prevail in the November General Election. This is an important day to vote. Make your voice heard today before the polls close at 7 PM. Find your polling location here👇 www.votetexas.gov/voting/where...
