President Trump wants Congress to claw back over $1 billion that's already been approved for public broadcasting. We've had this kind of fight before. Western PA sent Mr. Rogers down to Washington to make the case back in 1969, and he said it best. [1/2]
I heard from over 1,000 Western Pennsylvanians who filled out my survey and shared their experiences with last month's power outages. 82% of folks told me they lost power, and we heard some stories that were real gut punches. [1/2]
Corporate criminals shouldn’t be let anywhere near the levers of power in our government. I'm proud to stand with fellow reformers to battle corruption, with bills like my "No Corporate Crooks Act" to #EndCorruptionNow.
For generations, immigrants flocked to Western PA to power our factories and get a slice of the American Dream. Now, legal immigrants playing by the rules still power our healthcare sector, taking care of our seniors and sick folks. [1/2]
It can be tough to find something that Democrats & Republicans agree on down in Washington these days. But here's one that Western Pennsylvanians of both parties can get behind: banning Members of Congress from trading stocks.
Last week I led a bipartisan group of lawmakers on the House floor with one message: It’s time to ban stock trading for members of Congress. Both parties, from all across the country.  The people are done waiting — it’s time for a VOTE.
Happy #PrideMonth, folks! Everyone should have the freedom to love who they love, to be who they are, and to feel safe and be treated equally. Let’s keep fighting to make the promise of equality real for all of us. 🏳️‍🌈
No company should be able to hold a worker’s health—or the well-being of their family—hostage during a labor dispute. I'm proud to join @mcbride.house.gov in introducing legislation to defend workers' rights by preventing these unfair strike-breaking tactics.
ICYMI, I'm sounding the alarm about how firings and more at the VA are hurting cancer clinical trials and beyond. My fellow veterans have earned the best care possible, and this kind of betrayal is unacceptable. #ThrowbackThursday
The Trump Administration tried to freeze funding that helps lower energy costs for folks in Western PA. Some good news to share: my office successfully helped get the federal grant money for local energy efficiency projects that lower peoples’ utility costs flowing again. More here ⤵️
Thanks to Jimmy Fallon for bringing a little humor to a tough reality: House Republicans just voted to make so many poorer, sicker, and hungrier—all to pay for tax handouts to billionaires and huge corporations.   delulu…
The GOP Tax Scam Bill that was just rammed through & passed by a single vote would rip away healthcare from thousands of Western PA'ns to fund tax giveaways to the richest people who have ever lived. This fiscally reckless bill would saddle us with trillions in debt and make so many sicker & poorer.
Thanks to Paul Van Osdol's investigation for shining a light on these fraud allegations of ripping off our military and public money. I keep saying this: want to cut government waste? Focus on the Pentagon.
I voted NO on the Republican Tax Scam bill. It would rip away healthcare for millions and cut millions in food assistance for families, schools, and kids to pay for tax handouts to the ultra-wealthy and giant corporations, adding trillions to the national debt.
