Due process exists for all persons in our country because our laws assume you're innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.
That being said, the "they need to do it the right way" crowd is awfully quiet on this report.

Our obligation includes oversight of hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars. @replamonica.bsky.social was doing her job.
This administration is trying to intimidate judges, law firms, universities, and now members of Congress.
I’m with Rep. McIver. And House Democrats won’t back down.
It doesn't "save" a $1 trillion, it slashes it from programs like Medicaid and SNAP, kicking millions of Americans off their healthcare and nutrition programs
You also forgot to mention the other $3-4 trillion being spent on tax cuts for the wealthy that'll explode our deficit.
Republicans weren't interested in protecting healthcare, SNAP, transparency, or ensuring the wealthy pay their fair share.
Democrats want to protect these crucial programs, ensure the rich pay their fair share, and show the American people know what Republicans are proposing.
@jayapal.house.gov motioned to ensure Republicans were being straightforward about the final cost of the billionaire tax cuts.
@amo.house.gov suggested the bill raise the income tax rate on millionaires, just like DONALD TRUMP has suggested.
@repmcgarvey.bsky.social, similar to @balint.house.gov, requested to eliminate all provisions the CBO projects would reduce participation in SNAP.
What were they?
@balint.house.gov motioned to eliminate all provisions the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates would increase the number of Americans without health insurance.
If a provision kicked an American off health insurance, that part would be deleted.
We couldn't offer amendments.
But we could offer motions to provide Chairman Arrington with non-binding instructions to offer changes when the bill reaches the Rules Committee.
Last night, we suggested four and they were ALL rejected by Republicans.
ICYMI: Late last night, Republicans in the Budget Committee chose to advance the largest tax cuts for the wealthy in American history.
Not only did they choose to rip away healthcare and nutrition program funding from millions of Americans, they doubled down.
A thread 🧵
The Republican budget bill only benefits the top 0.1%.
People making less than $51,000 could lose about $700 on average in after-tax income beginning next year.
But those in the top 0.1%? They'll see a GAIN of more than $389,000.
So tell me, who are Republicans fighting for?
🚨 Update on the incredibly harmful Republican budget bill.
Sending my prayers for health, strength and a speedy recovery to President Biden, who I know will be surrounded by his adoring family during this challenging time.
Under the Republican budget bill, if you make less than $51,000 you’ll lose almost $700 in after-tax income starting next year.
But if you’re in the top 0.1%? You’ll GAIN almost $400k.

As it looks like we’ll be back in the budget committee tonight, I want to be very clear to the American people: Republicans want to use YOUR money to fund billionaire tax breaks.
Republicans’ budget prioritizes giving historic tax breaks to billionaires while everyone making under $51k annually will see their income drop by $700.
That’s FORTY-THREE % of El Paso or almost 120 THOUSAND people.

Let me be clear: the Republican budget bill failed today because of THEIR in-fighting.
Those who voted against the bill did so because they don't think the Medicaid cuts go *far enough.*
As they regroup, Democrats remain committed and united in our defense of healthcare.
Democrats stood united against today’s latest Republican attempt to slash your healthcare and nutrition programs.
We’ll continue to be relentless in our defense of critical programs millions of Americans rely on.

The Republican budget bill doesn’t make our country better.
It crushes hardworking Americans, making them sicker, poorer, and hungrier.
The House Republican budget bill represents the biggest cuts to Medicaid and nutrition programs in American history.
Even Senate Republicans know how detrimental this would be.

Republicans wanted you to be sleeping while we talked about what a bad deal their bill is for the people.
