It’s been 600 days since Hamas’s horrific attack on Israel. 58 innocent people, including 4 Americans, are still being held hostage in unbearable conditions. We will not give up, we will not rest, until all of the remaining hostages return home. #BringThemHomeNow 🎗️
UNICEF gives hope to the world’s most vulnerable children and strengthens our global alliances through lifesaving assistance. It was great to welcome UNICEF’s DC office to discuss the urgent need to protect funding for these vital programs #ForEveryChild.
Another busy week fighting for you in Congress. Take a look at what I’ve been working on to push back against the Trump Administration’s reckless, illegal policies and protect the programs working families depend on. ⬇️
A child’s ability to learn is shaped by so many factors, including being well fed and staying healthy. But Trump and House Republicans are attacking it all. They're pushing a cruel bill to rip food and health care from millions of Americans, including 50,000 in our district.
At today’s hearing with Secretary of Education McMahon, I laid out my priorities for our education budget. That includes stopping efforts to gut the Office for Civil Rights, which addresses all forms of discrimination in our schools, and supporting student Veterans and vital loan programs.
When we turn our back on the world and people are left hungry, uneducated, and afraid for their future, what happens next? They turn to whoever offers help, whether that’s China or an armed terrorist group. Watch my remarks from today’s Appropriations hearing with Secretary Marco Rubio ⬇️
Gerry Connolly was a kind and effective leader who spent his life working to make our country better. I’m keeping his loved ones in my thoughts. May his memory be a blessing.
The Trump Administration’s reckless move to slash nearly $2.5B in public health funding to Florida will make our communities less healthy and leave more children vulnerable to illness. My fellow Florida Democrats and I called on the President to restore these vital programs.
My, my, my. The GOP Tax Scam hurts everyday Americans by making the largest cut to nutrition assistance in our history and kicking nearly 14 million off their health care. All so Trump and House Republicans can reward their billionaire buddies with another massive tax cut.
Members of Congress have a Constitutional, legal, and moral responsibility to conduct robust oversight of the Executive Branch. @housedemocrats.bsky.social stand with Rep. McIver. We will not be intimidated by Donald Trump and his cronies – not today and not ever.
Venezuelans are fleeing a brutal regime, hunger, and violence. Today’s Republican-led SCOTUS decision clearing the way for the Trump Administration to end TPS for 350,000 people—including thousands who call South Florida home—is cruel, dangerous, and puts lives at risk.
Trump and House Republicans' tax bill kicks nearly 14 million people off their health care and takes food out of the mouths of millions of Americans. All to hand another massive tax break to their billionaire donors. Headed back to Washington to fight this bad, ugly bill.
Every child deserves to grow up healthy and well-fed. I stood with local leaders to fight back against Trump’s $1.5 billion cut to school meals and food banks, including programs serving working families in Palm Beach County, all to hand tax breaks to his billionaire buddies.
May is #AANHPI Heritage Month! 🌺 This month, we’re celebrating the rich cultures and powerful contributions of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders whose achievements have moved our country forward in science, the arts, and beyond.
I hosted a virtual town hall for a critical discussion on protecting Social Security and pushing back on Trump’s reckless agenda. Thanks to @raskin.house.gov, former Social Security Commissioner Martin O’Malley, and @repstansbury.bsky.social for joining! Click below to rewatch our conversation 👇
Join #TeamFrankel in wishing our incredible boss, Congresswoman Frankel, a very happy birthday! 🎉🎂🎈 We’re grateful for her leadership and tireless commitment, and it’s a privilege to serve alongside her for the people of Palm Beach County.
With nearly half a million Haitian Americans living in Florida, many with deep ties to the island, the U.S. must act to protect American citizens and humanitarian workers, and support the Haitian people in their fight to reclaim their country from lawlessness and despair.
The reports out of Haiti are heartbreaking. Families are being driven from their homes, clinics looted, and communities gripped by gang violence. That's why I joined Reps. Rich McCormick and Gregory Meeks to urge Secretary Rubio to help advance peace and stability in Haiti.
