Three years ago, SCOTUS stripped Americans of their fundamental right to choose. As a member of the #ReproductiveFreedomCaucus, I’ll keep fighting to restore that right. That’s why my colleagues and I are reintroducing the Women’s Health Protection Act. Abortion is health care. Period.
Senator McConnell and Republicans are clearly out of touch with the American people. Millions of Americans rely on Medicaid to afford basic health care. Losing access to the care they need is NOT something people will just “get over.” @punchbowlnews.bsky.social
Last Sunday for Father’s Day, my letter to the editor ran in WaPo with 4 other dads on what we’ve learned as parents. I’ll say it again: take as much family time as you can! When we do this, we break the stigma around dads putting family first. I’ll keep fighting to support paid leave nationwide.
Republicans say they’re the party of family values, but never pass anything that actually values families. Their temporary paid leave credit is underused and limited. Making it permanent without fixing it is just lip service. They need to put their money where their mouth is.
While Republicans push their Big Billionaire Bill to gut health care, I’m working with @beyer.house.gov , @blumenthal.senate.gov, and @chrismurphyct.bsky.social to expand access to affordable care and make sure MORE people get the coverage they need — all while saving taxpayers billions 💸.
The law is clear: Members of Congress have the right to conduct unannounced oversight of ICE facilities. DHS wants 72 hours to hide the abuse — but that’s exactly why we’ll keep showing up. If there’s nothing to hide, why are they so afraid to let us in?🤔
VP JD Vance is just as bad as Donald Trump. He’s coming here just to continue the chaos and show they aren’t gonna stop. Well we’re not gonna stop either!
Let's be clear: ICE and other federal agents conducted raids in Hollywood, arresting people and transporting them to Dodger Stadium property to transfer them into other vehicles. DHS now claims the agents at Dodger Stadium weren’t involved in ICE operations — but we know that’s a lie.
DHS saying ICE wasn’t conducting an operation is pure BS. We’ve seen the admin lie consistently, and our communities know what we saw. Immigrant advocates and our neighbors will keep looking out for each other and staying vigilant.
Big shout out to the 35 Dahlia Heights Elementary students from Eagle Rock who stopped by my office as part of their school trip to DC! I’m glad Hodge and I got to say hi via Zoom. Have fun in DC!
The Billionaire Establishment in DC doesn’t care about the challenges facing working families because Republicans are giving them more tax breaks, paid for by the rest of us. I won’t stop speaking up for people struggling with rent, food, and health care while the ultra-wealthy get a free pass.
Trump's move to cut the 988 LGBTQ+ crisis hotline during Pride Month is cruel and dangerous. Having counselors who understand LGBTQ+ kids' unique challenges can mean the difference between life & death. Please call @TrevorProject directly at 1-866-488-7386 if you need support.
Our community keeps showing up in so many ways and I couldn’t be prouder! We’re sending a message to Trump, DHS and ICE that we are NOT going away and we’re not going to stand for you terrorizing our friends, co-workers, neighbors and families.
Today, we honor Juneteenth — a celebration of Black freedom, resilience, and joy. This day is not just about remembering history, but a call to continue the fight for justice and dignity. We celebrate. We remember. We keep pushing forward.
We’re in a housing crisis—and families with the fewest options are hurting most. My Affordable Housing Equity Act with @repdelbene.bsky.social boosts the best tool we have to help low-income renters. It’s a smart, urgent step to make housing more affordable and equitable.
Thank you to the 4,533 Angelenos who joined my Tele Town Hall tonight. From lawless ICE raids to protecting Medicaid & Social Security, we discussed how to defend our working families. We might not agree on everything, but 1 thing’s clear: we must stop Trump & the billionaire establishment in DC.
