Trump’s refusal to hold Putin accountable is not only disgraceful, but also dangerous. His continued efforts to appease and partner with this craven dictator is a betrayal of freedom, democracy, and international law.
Putin has denigrated humanitarian principles and morals through his illegal invasion of Ukraine. This invitation is an insult to the Ukrainians and Europeans who are actively fighting against the relentless assault on Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Cooperation amongst world leaders is crucial to rebuilding Gaza and stabilizing the region. However, extending an invitation to Putin to join the Board of Peace undermines the mission to eradicate Hamas, secure peace, and promote reconciliation amongst nations.
It was an honor to join my colleagues to reaffirm the U.S Congress’ commitment to preserving our alliance with the Kingdom of Denmark.
As a proud Danish American and founder & Co-Chair of the Friends of Denmark Caucus, I’ll keep working to advance our two nations' cooperation in Greenland & beyond.
In the face of countless setbacks and disappointments, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. kept the dream of a better, more equal America alive.
On #MLKDay and beyond, let us find wisdom in how he navigated & resisted injustices and rededicate ourselves to completing the work to which he called us.
Contrary to the bluster coming from the White House, Denmark has been a model ally in our decades-long partnership.
I’m proud to join a bipartisan & bicameral delegation in Denmark to demonstrate that Trump's threats against Greenland don’t reflect the views of the American people or the Congress.
Purchasing or seizing Greenland – both absurd ideas – would cost America dearly, alienating our allies and emboldening our enemies.
The NO NATO for Purchase Act makes clear that President Trump’s obsession with Greenland does not reflect the will of Congress or the American people.
It is critical that we follow the Constitution and ensure our judiciary remains independent so that we can continue to have 'a nation of laws, not of men.’

The inflammatory rhetoric from the Trump Admin concerning Greenland threatens to undermine the U.S. & NATO's shared ability to counter real threats. The bipartisan No Funds for NATO Invasion Act makes clear to our partners & the world: it's unacceptable to invade the territory of an ally of the U.S.
Trump's latest threats to prosecute Federal Reserve Board Chair Powell on sham charges are a direct attack on the Fed's independence and its ability to fight inflation and support job growth.
Trump can try to scapegoat the Fed for our economy's woes, but the only person he has to blame is himself.
Antisemitism endangers our entire democracy, and it’s our duty to confront it and work to ensure Jews’ safety and inclusion no matter where they live.
My prayers are with the Jewish community in Mississippi at this time.
I am horrified by the arson attack on the Beth Israel Congregation in Jackson, Mississippi.
While I am grateful that no one was killed, this targeted attack was a manifestation of the hate and menacing violence Jews have endured for millennia.
Great to join Fox 5 DC this morning to discuss my retirement announcement and how I intend to continue serving the American people during this critical moment.

I stand with Gabby & everyone working to end the gun violence epidemic in our communities.
This week we recognized 15 years since the tragic shooting in Tucson that killed 6 Arizonians, injured 13, and nearly claimed the life of my former colleague, @gabbygiffords.bsky.social.
Her determination in overcoming that adversity continues to inspire us all.
With the release of the #DecemberJobsReport this morning, the results are in: 2025 was the worst year for U.S. job growth since 2020.
Trump said America was poised for an economic boom, but with 4.4% unemployment & only 584,000 jobs added last year, the numbers suggest we're going bust.
Yesterday, House Democrats ushered in a tremendous victory and passed legislation that would extend critical #ACA tax credits to protect access to affordable health care premiums.
I urge my colleagues in the Senate to act swiftly to restore this lifeline for millions of hardworking Americans.
